Hey!
So I know this has been done a lot but I really couldn't help it! It's been on my mind for the longest time and I'm so glad I finally got to write it down. Somehow I think it came out wrong though... I had this picture in my head the whole time but I'm not good at describing things.
She was going to die and she knew it. Who would be her murderer however was unknown to her.
Her wand had been knocked out of her hand by force a while back and she was lying on the ground staring up at the sadistic woman in front of her. Bellatix, her captor, was grinning madly in her twisted, evil way. Surrounding her were death eaters, one of which now possessed her wand.
He was one of them. He stood watching, unsure what to do. His mind was racing, thinking of a way to get her out of this mess alive. He couldn't very well kill Bellatrix no matter how much he wanted to. That would mean at least 5 killing curses fired at him by the other death eaters around them. That was if he was lucky.
If Bellatrix or any other death eater killed her it would definitely not be clean. Her body would be tortured first before finishing the job and leaving her to die slowly and looked down into her eyes and instantly wished he hadn't. They were now glaring up at him filled with hate and accusation.
She tried to look like she didn't fear any of those surrounding her. It was almost true. But betrayal was at the forefront of her mind. Her anger made her strong, kept her from showing weakness. He turned away.
"Come, Draco," his aunt hissed. "we will show the mudblood what she really deserves. CRUCIO!"
She shrieked in agony as the curse hit her. It was too much for him to bear. He turned around. When she stopped screaming she was gasping for breath and staring defiantly up at him though he refused to meet her eyes.
Bellatrix cast the curse once more and her screams started up again. This was too much for him. "STOP!" he commanded, fist clenched tightly around his wand.
"Well well well... It seems our dear Draco here has taken a pity on the mudblood" Bellatrix crooned. "Finish the job Draco. The dark lord will reward you well for the killing of Harry Potter's mudblood friend"
He clenched his fist even tighter on his wand but did not move from his spot. She was breathing heavily both from the curse she had endured and from anger.
"Come now Draco, finish the job" his aunt said in his ear. "Unless you would like me to do it for you"
"No" he said firmly. He raised his wand slowly.
"I TRUSTED YOU! YOU LIAR! YOU FILTHY EVIL—"
"Crucio!" Bellatrix yelled. "That will teach you to speak to your superiors like that. Not that you'll be alive for much longer. Draco do it already!"
"I want her to look at me. I want to see her life leave her when she dies" Draco said flatly. Bellatrix grabbed her face and roughly turned it so she was facing Draco.
"Now" Bellatrix commanded.
Hermione continued to glare at him with her look of defiance, anger and betrayal. He was doing this for her. He had chosen the lesser of two evils. By closing this he had made sure nothing would harm her even more.
"I'm sorry. I love you" He mouthed before casting the curse that ended her life.
Hi... that was depressing...
Oh well! After writing this I realized that you can put this in either the Malfoy Manor scene or the Battle of Hogwarts scene and it still goes. Just use your imagination.
So if you have time please review and check out my other stories particularly the newer ones and "Rose" "Scorpius" and "Different Paths, Same Destiny" which are my all time faves!
Thanks again for reading
