A/N: Credit goes to BrambleRose4 and her prompt. For my friend, SkyeElf. Love you.
I don't own Harry Potter.
Don't tell me who to love!
Harry and Ron were glaring at one another. The two friends had gone for a walk next to the frozen lake, it was mid-winter and a fierce wind whipped around their faces. Neither of them felt it, as the heat on both their faces was enough to melt the entire lake.
From afar it would appear as of the two friends had simply engaged in an argument. If you were closer, you'd know Harry had just made a shocking revelation to Ron.
Ron couldn't believe what he'd just heard!
"Face it, Ron." Harry said coldly, shaming the snow.
"You love Ginny!"
"Weasley, I warn you, do not tell me who I can and cannot love!"
"But…"
"No buts!"
"Harry, you are not thinking straight! We should… get you into the castle and get some food in you…"
"Listen, if you don't feel the same way, I'll just leave." Harry yelled, turning heel and storming off towards the forest.
Ron followed him. He was a bit faster than Harry, so he caught his wrist just as Harry was about to disappear deeper into the forest.
"Ron…" Harry began, but he couldn't continue. His eyes were blurry, and a warm tear slipped down his cheek. Ron stared. He'd only seen Harry cry a few times. At Dumbledore's funeral, after Sirius died, Dobby… always for death, never because his heart had been broken or for love.
"Harry?" Ron took a step closer. His hand left Harry's wrist and he wiped away the warm tear with the tips of his fingers. He stared at his fingers. The wetness was warm. He rubbed his fingers together, a grin spreading on his face.
"Is that why you never started anything with Ginny again? After…"
"After the war? Yeah." Harry said, sighing, the weight of the world seemingly atop his scrawny shoulders.
Ron took another step closer, his arms encircled Harry's smaller frame.
"I love you." Harry whispered. Ron laughed pleasantly.
"I love you too." Ron replied, a grin forever etched onto his face. He was surprised to feel Harry's hands encircling his torso.
Both men would forever cherish this moment.
