(Don't Fear) The Reaper

Sam sat on the chair beside the bed Dean is lying on. The doctor said he was in critical condition and they sent him into the ICU with only maximum visiting time 3 hours. Sam held his brother's hand tight. In fact it was insanely tight if it wasn't because Dean was in critical condition he would probably cry out in pain.

Sam was afraid he might lose Dean again. No, he thought he was going to lose Dean the third time.

Looking out of the window, Sam saw two young boy, the younger one about six, and the older one eight year old, playing baseball. Sam sighed. Why can't the Winchesters be like other normal families? All they had were deaths and murders, and sometimes, terrible accidents like this that sent his brother many steps closer to the reaper.

When he turned back from the window, he saw Castiel has already gotten into the room. Sam finally felt relief in three hours, knowing even when the visiting hours are over, Cas will still watch over Dean, always.

He wondered why Cas did not prevent the accident. No, this is not right, Sam told himself. Even after all those years fighting monsters with the angel he still had the impression that and angel could do anything.

Nobody said anything, yet they two understood each other perfectly.

A nurse walked into the ICU, "I am sorry, Mr. Winchester, but visiting hour is up. Your brother needs to rest."

Sam nodded. He held Dean's limp hand one more time, and kissed his forehead, hoping a miracle would happen and save his brother from the reaper. He had no idea who will come this time to take away Dean. All he knew is that they must not achieve their goal, and that Castiel would stop them.

Before he walked out the door with the nurse, he looked back into the room one more time, first at Dean, then at Cas. Take good care of him, he said silently in his mind, don't ever, ever let him go.

I will, nodded the angel.

The angel said down beside Dean, and held his hand just like Sam did, only tighter. He thought of a song Dean has played him before, and decided to sing it to him.

"Seasons don't fear the Reaper, nor do the wind, the sun or the rain…."

"La lalalalala…."

"Valentine is done, here but now they're gone…"

"Romeo and Juliet, are together in eternity…"

"La lalalalala…"

"She has taken his hand, don't fear the Reaper."

-The End-:)
