Ned Starling

It was terrible. Not only did I almost make a nemesis for the rest of my mortal life, it got much worse than any clue hunt, even my crazy family's.

This catastrophe started at my sister's place by the Cahill's mansion.

I was doing my natural thing, word puzzles and Ken-Kens, and Sinead brushing her teeth.

Then, we heard creepy whispering, as silent as air.

"Come on! We don't have all night!"

"I'm coming Fred! Do you think Damien want a Vesper civil war?"

Fred replied, "Don't call me Fred that's my cover name Marvin."

Sinead apparently heard the whispering too. She stopped brushing and crept over to the window.

They weren't men. They had hair that stuck up about five feet above their heads. Their faces were either slimy or really droopy.

"Man Vesper 1 is a nut." said Marvin.

"Hey, being a mutant isn't too bad. Sure, you have to be concealed from public, but at least we're hot now, right?"

Marvin retorted, "You're saying that you are HOT?"

"Why, yes I am."

"Nice job with girls. I'd say your best hope is the homo world."

Fred jumped on top of Marvin with an earsplitting roar.

Sinead rushed over to me and said, "Get Amy and Dan. I'll hold them."

I slipped out the backdoor andcrept toward the Cahill's house. He could still hear Marvin and Fred. Suddenly, he heard a scream. It was so loud, his eardrums felt like splitting in two. But that's not what shook him up.

The scream was Sinead's.
