She was so little.

So lost.

So broken.

So young.

A little girl with icy white hair and power beyond her wildest dreams, but she couldn't quite control it, could she?

He had to try.

He watched, he waited.

She noticed.

The little girl with big blue eyes NOTICED HIM.

She saw him.

She was just like him.

He wasn't alone.

"Hi," he said carefully, trying to break the ice (pun intended.)

"Hello," she replied shyly, and shifted from foot to foot.

"Don't be afraid," Jack assured her. "I'm just like you. A little bit lost, a little bit different, and a lot magical."

Those big blue eyes got impossibly wide, as the little girl moved across the room

Slowly,

Carefully,

Hesitantly,

And came to stop in front of him.

He knelt down, and placed his hand between them, palm facing the ceiling.

"Are you ready?" He whispered, and she nodded eagerly.

Sparks of ice drifted from the middle of nowhere, sparkling in the air between them. They turned into snowflakes, and then it turned into a dog shaped, bounding around the girls room. She spun with delight, and then glanced at her hands.

"I…I can do that?" she asked, and Jack's heart broke in two.

"You can do that and more."

She leapt up with a screech of 'teach me!' grabbing his sleeve so he wouldn't leave, before pulling back from him, remembering her manners, what her father taught her-

Conceal don't feel, after all.

"I'm Elsa," she said sweetly, offering her hand.

Such peculiar formality in such a little girl, Jack thought.

He got down on one knee, and made a sweeping gesture with his arms. "I'm Jack, your highness, and the pleasure is all mine."

He made a friend that day, the first time in forever, and he showed her the wonderful things she could do. But the little girl grew up, but she only got more lost.

She started locking her window.

Jack got the message.

It didn't mean he didn't go to Arendelle palace every night to see if that window was open.

It never was, only a barrier of ice growing more and more.

The little princess shut out the world again.

He couldn't come back, not for a while. He had business with the guardians, and was off being a hero in his own right.

But he still came back eventually.

And the window was wide open.

So were all the doors.

And most peculiar of all-the gates.

Jack moved through the window, still so familiar even after so long.

He examined the room, turning around, taking in the familiar high ceilings and light pink walls, only the room had grown and aged along with the girl that should be in it.

"Hello, Jack," came the same clear voice as from years before. Jack turned around, and his heart stopped.

It was still his Elsa.

The same icy hair.

The same wide blue eyes.

The same smile that took his breath away.

But she was different, so different.

Elsa stood taller. Her confines were gone. Her hair was loose, her royal clothes replaced with-

"Are those-is that made of ice?" He asked dumbly.

Elsa smirked at him. "I've learnt a few tricks of my own, Jack," she sang playfully.

Jack was struggling to keep his mouth closed.

She walked across the room,

Striding,

Elegant,

Determined,

Until she was right in front of him, like she was all those years ago on that first night.

"Are you ready?" she asked, her delicate hand outstretched between them, and the distance closing.

The ice turned to snowflakes, and the snowflakes turned to a little couple skating on the ice, an intricate dance.

"That was beautiful, your highness," Jack said finally, staring into her eyes, which held a sparkle that hadn't been there before.

"Thank you, Jack Frost, but it's always been Elsa to you."

A little bit lonely,

A little bit lost,

Two hearts managed to find

Each other.
