Summary: Nate thinks that Shane's suffering from a mid-twenties life crisis.

Quote from Friends

Shane walked into the apartment he shared with his brothers and his girlfriend. Nate looked up from his book to see Shane walking across the main room repeatedly. He waited until Shane passed him for the tenth time before speaking up.

"What are you doing?" part of Nate dreading what his answer would be.

"You think I need a new walk?" Shane asked, pausing for a moment before starting up again with a slight bounce in his step.

"What?" Nate asked, thankful—for Shane's sake—that Caitlyn wasn't there.

"Well, I've had the same walk since high school. And, you know how, when a guy walks into a room and everyone takes notice?" Shane paused, looking at Nate, who nodded merely to humor his older brother, before continuing, "I think I need a 'take notice' walk."

Nate just stared at Shane for a moment, blinking and shaking his head in disbelieve. After a moment, the words Nate had been looking for came to him, "Are you actually saying these words?"

"What words?" Caitlyn asked, entering the apartment and greeting Shane with a kiss.

"He's under the impression that he needs a 'take notice' walk." Nate replied, eagerly awaiting Caitlyn's reply.

"A 'take notice' walk?" Caitlyn rolled her eyes as she turned to her long-time boyfriend, "You're an international pop star, you always get noticed!"

"Yeah, but it's not because of my walk." Shane said like it was obvious.

"I swear to God, Shane, if you continue this, I will pretend I don't know you and you will not be getting anything from me until you stop."

"Operation: Take Notice Walk aborted." Shane sighed, sitting down on the couch.

"I like your walk just the way it is." Caitlyn smiled softly at him as she sat down next to him.

"Thanks, Kit-Kat." Shane smiled down at him.

"Don't call me that." Caitlyn smiled as she kissed him sweetly.

Nate gagged as Shane pulled her back in for a more passionate kiss. When it became obvious they weren't going to separate anytime he said, "Oh, go to your room."

With that, he got up and went down the hall to his room.
