"Hiya, Georgie. What up, mate?"
George looked around in his bedroom. That voice was distinctly Fred's. There was a little difference between George's voice and Fred's voice; George's voice was a bit deeper than Fred's, and more thoughtful. No one could distinguish that, except for Fred and George and that extremely observant Granger girl that ickle Ronniekins had taken a bit of an interest in.
But Fred was...Fred was...was...George couldn't bring himself to say it. If he said the word, his eyes would surely flood for a year. That had already happened, last year.
"Fred?"
"Yeah. It's me. I'm talking through your ear-your missing, disfigured ear," said the voice that sounded like Fred's.
That ear must have gone to heaven, thought George.
"It did. The Marauders-Moony, Padfoot, and Prongs-better known as Lupin, Sirius, and Harry's dad James gave it to me. Dunno 'bout Wormtail. They said he was Peter Pettigrew. I don't think he went to heaven. But anyways, the Marauders helped me build this brilliant connection from heaven to you. That way I can talk to you. It's getting a bit lonely up here, too."
"Stay with me," George sobbed. "Freddie."
"Always. In your heart, and the ear thing."
George crumpled to the ground, his emerald-tipped brown eyes flowing with salty tears.
"Georgie...Georgie...Georgie...please don't cry," Fred begged. "Georgie...George...please..."
"Wh-what you said earlier gets me every time," George sobbed. "Freddie, I miss you so much, even if you talk to me through the ear!"
"George! Wake up!"
George woke up to the sound of Fred shaking him furiously. The sun peeked through the window and the smells of Molly cooking breakfast drifted through the door.
"Freddie!"
"Another bad dream again?" Fred asked.
George nodded. "Well...kinda."
"Tell me about it at breakfast! Mum's been calling us way too much to eat."
Fin.
Hi everyone! I know this is a bad ending, a REALLY bad ending, but I wrote this out of tears and boredom. Also, this miiiiight seem a bit OOC, but I'm pretty sure everyone would be like that after a very traumatic event. It would take a long time for the characters to get back to normal, if they will at all. Please don't flame.
This is Luna, signing off.
