Foreword
This story was born from the depths of depression. It came to me at a time when my nights were spent in a dark room lit blood red alternately reading Harry Potter fanfiction (to just not be me anymore), staring at my wall (trying to remember how to feel, how to cry, so I could purge the monster from my heart), and listening to the trains through the window (because I was always still me and I just could not remember what being human, what living at all, was like).
This story was a cry for help. It was a way for me to tell myself that I can do something. Something more than just be. In pain. In spite of pain. Something beautiful:
Creation.
It was far from perfect, but I posted it anyway. And you, the reader, responded to me. You told me that the work of my hands was good, and you asked me to make more to share with you. I was honored, and floored, and disbelieving; but the reviews were there. My brain was doing something other than stall for the first time in nearly a year, and my heart followed suit. I was shocked into feeling again, by you. It was slow going, but I was able to get the help I needed; and now, years later, I'm finally back on my feet.
So, yeah. Thanks for that.
Now, it's time for me to finally start sharing the story of my soul with you again. It took awhile for me to find my muse again, because the depression had been so fresh and deep, like a gaping wound. I just couldn't find it in me to touch this story for a while. But once I began dancing again, and performing... well, I knew it was time to create more of this too.
