"Finish her off!" Jason commands his Lucario.
A wrecked battlefield lay in front of both trainers and there Pokemon. Jason commanding his Lucario and Claire commanding her Gardevoir. Gardevoir and Lucario; exhausted from battle, just wanting to rest. Both suffering severe damage and covered in dirt. Lucario; not wanting to disappoint his trainer didn't want to finish off Gardevoir.
"Master please!" Lucario pleaded telepathically. "She's... She's hurt beyond belief, I can just wait it out."
"No way!" revolts Jason. "There's too much on the line to just wait it out!"
There was just too much on the line. This is the final battle for the Sinnoh League. Jason and Claire are rivals and would do anything to see the other fall. But what was unique about them is that they were not always at one another's throats. They were once a couple, a fairly romantic couple. But it was the constant lust for power that broke the two apart. Now they are sworn enemies and who knows how long they will be enemies. There own Pokémon can't stand to see them argue and fight, particularly Gardevoir and Lucario, who, for almost a year, have been keeping a dark secret from there trainers.
"Gardevoir Please get up!" Claire chants.
Gardevoir gets up from her knees to see her opponent; Lucario staring her down.
"I can't..." Gardevoir spoke telepathically with Claire. "Please, let me rest."
"No way!" Yells Claire. "We're in this to win, you can rest when that's achieved!"
Gardevoir somehow managed to stand up on her two feet.
"I can't go on," Gardevoir said to Lucario through her mind. "Just.. Finish me."
"No, I won't!"Lucario said. "I don't know what would happen if I finish you off! I could never forgive myself!"
"Just do it, Please!" she begs.
"I can't, I won't!" he says.
"Lucario!" Jason begins. "Finish her off with Force Palm!"
Lucario had to obey, if he didn't, his entire plan would be ruined. He walks slowly to Gardevoir. holding out his right palm. He places his palm and Gardevoir's left shoulder. A tear rolls down Lucario's eye as does Gardevoir.
"Please, forgive me," Lucario begins.
A blinding flash of light emits from Lucario's Palm, absorbing the entire battlefield.
