Disclaimer: Harry Potter is J.K. Rowling's creation.
A/N: This is a strange thing I came up with when thinking about endings. It's for Cheeky Slytherin Lass, whose own writing I would highly recommend.
Albus is in plain text, Gellert italics.
A grand duel: Because you needed to prove it, didn't you?
Tearing and ripping and ending: Because this was final, and 'final' always hurts.
Old love dies hard: Because even when unwanted, feelings linger...
I filled your head with new things and you did the same for me: No, you were never truly open to another's ideas – not when they seriously contradicted your own.
I enlightened you – you discarded that: I would not call it 'enlightenment'. But admittedly not corruption, either... because I knew what was happening, and welcomed it.
You regret the duel with Aberforth, don't you?: I do and I am not reluctant to tell you so.
So I have locked you away: You didn't kill me, even though I might have killed you had you lost.
Sins should be reflected upon: But sins are a matter of perspective; it's impossible for me to reflect upon sins I don't think I've committed.
You killed so many people: You would have done it, had Ariana not died.
I'm unforgiving of you because you are unforgiving of me: I gave you chance upon chance to see sense.
You whiled away time, unwilling to face me, your companion, and yet you speak of responsibility for killing: I gave you chance upon chance to see sense, but you did not and I was afraid and I cannot deny that I am responsible for your tyranny running unchecked for so long.
But now it's over and I'm in my prison: And you will spend your life there.
Without me: Without the life that we envisaged.
It's all over now: For the Greater Good?
Do you think of me in your prison?: Never.
I love you: I hate you.
I loved you: I don't care.
Silence: I'll die too, then...
