Jake Peralta woke up to the sound of Amelia his new born daughter, crying. He rushes to get out of bed because he doesn't want Amy to wake up, hence she had just giving birth just over 3 weeks ago. Once he got to her crib (because it's right across the room and them being new paranoid parents they decided to do that, bet they regret it now) he picks her and gently rocks her, he made sure she doesn't need a change of diaper and is not due for another feeding yet. But no matter what he does he can't seem to quiet her down. So Jake takes her out the room, so she doesn't wake Amy. He walks down the stairs of the new house they had moved into, and walks to the living room. He walks right up to the window and starts talking.

"hey, little Lia I'm gonna need you to quiet down so we don't wake mommy, as much as we love her we don't want a grumpy mommy now do we"Jake says quietly with a funny face, that makes Amelia stop the tears immediately, and is replace with tiny giggles.

Jake looks up in front of him to look at the glass that's is covered in frost at edges and shows the outside winter wonderland. He takes a deep breath and exhales heavily, and looks back down at Amelia in his arms, and she looks back at him with curiosity filling her dark brown, doe eyes.

"If only you were old enough to understand just how much I love you and your mommy. When you were born, and I got to hold you in my arms for the first time, I knew right then and there that I was willing to do anything for the both of you." Jake said as he looked out the window again, looking as all the little white crystals fell precociously onto the thin bed of cloud like snow.

"you like the snow Lia" Jake asks the new born as if she would answer. Amelia giggles in response, and Jake just takes that as a yes. Jake and little baby Amelia, stand their looking as the white snowflakes fall to the solid cold cement creating layer after layer of cloud like snow. Amelia loves watching it, and if Jake try's to walk away she would start to cry, so to keep her from doing so, they just stand there and watched like a kids favorite cartoon just came on. As the beautiful hues of orange, pink, and blue begin to rise to the horizon, Amelia starts to fall asleep. Jake looks down at her and kisses her forehead "sleep tight, my little snow angel."

This was written about 2-3 years ago around winter time, that's what gave me the inspiration for this and I thought I'd share. Hope you enjoyed :)
