The Prophecy of One
Book One: The Tower of Isolation
Prologue
The Prophecy of One
"On the first moonlight after the world is razed,
The Chosen Five shall be revealed and saved.
Each of the Five will seek their own path,
Control their anger and conceal their wrath.
And one alone will enter the Tower.
But must have the courage and the ultimate power."
This was spoken the night before the apocalypse.
The War of the Worlds ravaged the five lands; Kiran, Seveno, Hiki, Yasuga, and even the secret world of Avaloria. The War only raged for several days, but it came with intense warfare pitting human and Pokemon against human and Pokemon. The War would have continued if the Seers hadn't stepped in. The same Seers that spoke the Prophecy of One gave their freedom for the sake of the world.
The next day, the first of the five was born in Hiki. And for the next four years, every year, one Chosen One is born in one of the lands. When the final Chosen One was born in Kiran, people everywhere rejoiced. But it was short lived. Word from the captive Seers told that the identities of the Chosen Ones must be kept secret. And so it has stayed secret for 13 years.
Dama's face was lighted only by the pale moonlight shining through the small window of her prison. She gently stroked the weakened Ninetales on her lap, getting a slight purr in response. The other two were most likely asleep as they were most days. There isn't much to wake up for in times like these. Dama herself did not intend on waking up this early, she had been awaked by Ninetales.
Her Ninetales gave a confused and half-hearted moan as if she knew something was afoot.
"Yes, Ninetales, I sense it, too," Dama reassured the multi-tailed Pokemon. As she looked around she saw that Soka had awoken and Mona was stirring. "They have finally decided to come out of hiding," Dama said to her, smiling.
"Yes," she agreed. "But, do you think they know how long they have left?" Soka's tone seemed full of anxiety and worry. This is never a characteristic of a Seer, a Seer's well-being always came last.
"I believe one of them knows," Dama said this as she looked imploringly out the window. It was almost as if each of them had lost hope and that the chances of the world's survival were slim.
Mona awoke with a start, unaware of her surroundings for an instant, but quickly coming back to reality. She looked at each of her fellow Seers for confirmation of what she suspected, happy to see them nod. "It shouldn't be long now," Mona said out loud, unintentionally. "I just hope they know what they're doing."
"Of course they know what they are doing!" Soka almost snapped at her. Calming down, she continued, "They are the Chosen Ones after all."
"Soka's right, you know, and I trust them," Dama turned her head once more towards the window. "And now, we must wait."
And as they watched the world outside the Tower, the sun rose over a new day…
