Shed the Tears

Cobalt,

the color of his eyes.

Demons fly free amongst the blue.

They fly on obsidian wings,

ravaging his soul,

tearing his dreams into the shreds of nightmares.

The face, the smile,

a mask to conceal the dead.

Grieving even in sleep,

tossing while wake,

darkness in peace.

Choking solitude,

penance, death.

Die amongst the living,

living amongst the dead,

grieve always dear child.

Gods be damned for the pain.

The choice was not his,

the choice was not mine.

He bears the weight of thousands,

so I do bear the weight.

Do not hide behind the shadowed laughter,

do not let the black flames burn the tarnished soul.

Let us rise from the shadows, conquer the demons,

let them go.

Come to me and cry,

cry the poisoned tears of murder.

Shed them for me, and I will shed my own.

Let us pray for those who will die tomorrow.
