Reyna was...tired.
Fatigued.
Exhausted.
She was sure that there was a lot more synonyms for the word, but she didn't ponder that. She wondered why.
Why she was so tired.
Her eyes weren't heavy, she didn't feel fatigue, she didn't crave to curl up into a ball and fall asleep.
But she was still tired.
Tired of living in her sister's shadow.
Ever since childbirth it had always been "Hylla this" and "Hylla that". Even at the young age of seven she had mentally lectured herself of feeling envious of her sister's success. She tried to be proud that her older sister was so successful, she tried to be proud of the fact that Hylla was Circe's favorite student, and Reyna was related to her. So Reyna tries- she tries so hard not to feel jealous. She tries so hard to escape out of her beautiful, clever, independent, older sister's shadow.
Hylla was the one who hatched the plan that succeeded in escaping of Blackbeard's pirate ship.
Hylla was the one who got the beauty, with her long, waves of hazel hair.
Hylla was the one who go the brains, being able to recite anything she ever heard; just from memory.
Hylla was the one who got the strength, with her ability to join the Amazons and to even become there leader.
But then again, Reyna was the one who lived bravely under her sister's shadow and never uttered a single word about how horrible it was to be second best at everything.
Reyna was the one who found Camp Jupiter, along with the other refugees with her.
Reyna was the one who was blessed with a friend as good as Jason Grace.
Reyna may have not been as strong a fighter as Hylla, but she sure as hell was strong.
Reyna WAS the one who become praetor of Camp.
Reyna was the one who looked for her missing partner- Jason.
Reyna was the one who found him.
Reyna was tired.
Fatigued.
Exhausted.
But she was strong.
Brave.
Courageous.
Reyna was strong, perhaps not as skillful as her sister- but she was strong.
A/N: Just a short little drabble I wanted to write. I always come out as second best with my older brother- he has the amazing grades, the ability to get onto sports teams, he got a scholarship to a school, he plays three sports, believe me the list can go on forever. So this was kind of based on my bro and me. Review and favorite! :).
