Today is the day. The real day. Not like the first time. It will be the true thing. The unbreakable bond in the timelord universe. The day that the Doctor finally gets what he's always wanted.
Today is his wedding. Yes, it seems like it's a girly thing to be excited for weddings, but he is. He's so excited he can barely stand it. In all his regenerations, he's never been this excited. From the first to the eleventh, he can now say this one will be his favorite.
The greatest wedding of all time, this will be talked about for centuries. The Doctor is getting married to River Song, who is a timelord just like him. Not exactly JUST like him. But like him enough that they have a lot in common. Sure, she didn't live through the time war, but that's what makes it special. He can have a life with her that they both can enjoy without her having the burden of the time war on her shoulders, too.
But today is finally the day. Because he decided that the "ceremony" they had before wasn't enough for him. And with this big wedding, they will have to spend more time together. Which is really exciting for him.
As the Doctor got up from the chair he had been sitting in to look at himself in the mirror, he wondered what River looked like today. He had never seen her in anything fancier than a cocktail dress, even though he thought that red dress had suited her well. He longed to see her today.
He straightened his bow tie(bow ties are cool), and approached the door. One hand was on the knob, and he was thinking about how weird it was to have to walk to where he wanted to go. And to take a car. But that's what River wanted, since she grew up partially in the normal world.
The Doctor felt nervous as he went to open that final door that opened up to the hallway that led to the altar. As he turned the knob, he thought about how lucky he was to be marrying River Song, also known as Melody Pond. He was having a real marriage to a real timelord who also happened to be two of his best friends' daughter.
He smiled as he walked towards the altar, which both he and River would soon be standing at. As he approached the altar, the few people that were there turned to look at this goofy yet stunning man in a bow tie.
Minutes after he arrived at the altar, Melody Pond arrived. At the end of the aisle she stood, in a magnificent white wedding dress with a lacy bust and flowing sides, smiling at the Doctor.
He stood there shocked by her beauty, waiting for her to walk up the aisle, when Rory approached River and she took his arm.
The Doctor was even more shocked, and more excited, by this new arrival.
She walked up to the altar, and they continued the ceremony. Melody Pond took the Doctor to be her husband, and the Doctor took the wonderful Melody Pond to be his wife. The also went through the timelord wedding ceremonies, but that was very brief and to the point.
River, the Doctor, Rory, and a recently arrived Amy Pond walked out of the Wedding Parlor(they didn't feel like using a church) hand in hand, side by side. The reception was a blast, and the Doctor pulled out some of the moves he used at Rory and Amy's wedding (they couldn't stop laughing, it brought back a lot of memories). River and the Doctor went on their honeymoon starting the next day, but it wasn't a normal honeymoon. They went on trips in the TARDIS, and usually they turned out to be decent trips. They didn't run into any immediate or horrific danger, and they had a lot of time to themselves exploring different planets and adventuring the inside of the infinite TARDIS.
Eventually, something bad is bound to happen. But you never know when that time may come. And whenever that time does come, all they have to remember is... "RUN."
