***Luke's pov***

"Ravi... what's wrong?" I ask as sobs rack his body. I get onto Ravi's bed and wrap my arms around him.

"Everything." Ravi says, wrapping his arms around me. Not even his Indian accent can cover up his sadness. "No one likes me."

"Of course they do, Ravi. You just got to talk to more people." I say. "And if no one likes you, why would I be here for you right now, like I always am?"

Ravi looks up at me and says, "But I have no friends."

"Oh come on, I know that's not true." I say.

"Oh, yeah? Then how come everyone at school is out to get me?!" asks Ravi.

"You don't know that. And isn't there one person at school nice to you?" I ask.

"You." he says. "So are Zuri and Jessie. Sometimes Emma is too."

"There you go." I say. "That's who some of your friends are. You should go out and make some friends. Even if they're the most nerdy people ever. But remember that we're always going to be here."

Ravi smiles slightly and says, "Thanks, brother."

"But, hey, if you ever get in a situation where I have to stand up for you, we should work out a signal." I suggest.

"Like what? And it has to work for you too." he says.

"Yeah, I doubt that's going to happen." I say. Ravi glares at me and I laugh. "Okay, okay, fine."

We end up agreeing on a signal that includes a light touch on the top of his hand a slight wave.

"Let's keep this signal a secret, alright?" I ask.

"Agreed." Ravi says.
