"Dean! Help me!" Sam calls across the playground, frantically scanning faces; looking for his older brother's eyes to catch his and notice that he needed him. Same weakly swung on the monkey bars, stuck halfway across them, hoping to have Dean help him get down.
"I'm comin' Sammy, it's okay!" Dean belted out, running towards his little brother.
Dean rushes over to where Sam is hanging by barely one hand, and helps his brother down, and catches him before he can fall onto the rough, rugged terrain that was the ground below them.
Sweet little Sam, just a little over 4 years old, grasps tight onto Dean's jacket, hugging him into a warm embrace, a silent thank you for saving him. Whenever Sam is scared, he knows hugs from his big brother always make him feel better. Big brother Dean always made him feel better; feel safe.
"Sammy, you need to be careful! You could have really gotten hurt!" Dean exclaimed, while checking Sam over lightly to make sure that he was okay still.
"I'm sorry, Dean, I won't do it again.."
Dean looked at his little brother… He knows how much work it is to constantly keep an eye out for his little brother, but it was his job. "Always watch out for Sammy; take care of Sammy" his dad had always told him… he was Sammy's angel now. Just like his mom used to tell him that angels watched over him. He needed to be that for Sammy. No matter what happened.
"It's okay, bud. Why don't we go find something to do other than try to get yourself hurt?" Dean giggled, pushing Sam with a light and playful shove.
Sam and Dean walk across the playground, heading towards a jungle gym structure. Sam's eyes catch this little girl walking away from the curly slide.
"She is so pretty' Sam thinks to himself. He walks towards the little girl, still dragging Dean close behind him.
"Hi, I'm Sam, and this is my brother Dean. What's your name?" Sam giggled.
"My name is Charlie. And this is my sister, Anna!" says the first little girl, with hair that was a bright cherry red hair, in ringlets down the sides of her face; a second little girl, with shiny copper hair comes up behind her.
They all chase after each other, slinking in and out of the tunnels, stairways and slides, tagging each other and laughing as they climb everywhere. Dean notices another little boy join in their group without any introduction. He catches the kid underneath the jungle gym, and tags him.
"Tag! You're it!" Dean smirked at the little boy, starting to run the other way. Dean turns around and notices the little boy hasn't moved. He walks back over to the boy, and stares at him for a few seconds, wondering why he wasn't playing with him.
"Hey! Why aren't you chasing me?" Dean quizzes the little boy. Dean looks at him, waiting for an answer. The kid just stares back at him with these icy royal blue eyes, and tilting his head to the side a little bit.
"I-I-I've never played this game before…" the little boy stutters. He looks very nervous and lost.
"That's okay, all you have to do is chase us if you get tagged, and if you tag someone, they get to chase you!" Dean beamed a bright, big smile at the boy.
"My name is Dean. Dean Winchester. What's your name?" he continues.
"M-My name is C-Castiel. Castiel Novak." The little boy smiles back at him; he smiles like this is the first friendship he has ever had.
Dean grabs his hand, pulling him behind him, to join in on their fun. Dean feels like he has got a great new friend for everyone to meet….
