I...don't know where this came from. A few years back I pictured the Mario crew watching Bleach and Luigi being a 'hime fanboy, then I thought interaction between the two of them would be cute. I forgot about that idea at some point, but now it's back with a revengance and...yeah! Shy nervous dork and outgoing cloudcuckoolander dork

"I always thought Mushroom Land was just something out of a fairytale," Orihime said as she unpacked the picnic basket. "It looks just like I pictured it, too!"

"Well, um, I'm happy you adjusted so well, then!" Luigi laughed. "So...you like to cook, huh? Certainly looks like you made a lot."

"Yep!" Orihime offered him one of the containers, which he almost regretted opening.

"Um...is that, uh...ioctopus with strawberry jam?" His face greened a bit. "I-I don't think that's a very good combination!"

"That's not strawberry jam, it's red bean paste. It makes everything better, even octopus!" Orihime insisted. Luigi was no stranger to weird food tastes; Mario had come up with some strange concoctions in his time and of course, Yoshi would eat almost anything topped with almost anything else. But this girl definitely had them beat.

"Ah, Orihime...I dunno if that's necessarily true!"

"Just try some! Or at least try the red bean paste!" She pulled out another container. "But if you don't like octopus I have buttered sweet potatoes, all kinds of cheese, red bean paste sandwiches, rice balls, meat buns..."

"You sure we're the only ones on this picnic?" Luigi asked, and Orihime giggled.

"I didn't know what you would like! You should tell me your favorite foods for next time," she scolded, and Luigi flushed scarlet.

"N-next time?! You mean, you..."

"I think you're sweet and I want to get to know you more," she said, and leaned in to kiss his cheek. Luigi suppressed a squeal of glee.

"I'd like that!" he said quickly, and took a fingerful of red bean paste.
