I once was a pirate that roamed the sea freely beneath the stars,
finding mountains of treasure to bring home with me, and plenty o' battle-scars.
Vessels we sailed towards the moon, eternity in our grasp,
motley sunsets a sailor's boon, the notion it would always last.
But those days are over now, never to return.
Old Foxy in his pirate's cove, an endless sojourn -
will the joy I knew ever come back to me?
Come little mateys and sail with me, I have many a tale to tell,
of love and legends and the endless sea, casting a magic spell.
But one morning I rose with blood in my mouth, and screaming they turned away,
a child I broke, his body it fell, old Foxy he couldn't stay.
But those days are over now, never to return.
Old Foxy sequestered in his pirate's cove, an endless sojourn;
to haunt the place and stalk the halls, searching for my past -
looking for my eternity, the terror this would always last,
the terror this would always last.
Will the life I knew ever come back to me?
