"For goodness sake woman, ease up on the gas!" Edd screeched holding on to the dashboard for dear life.

"And then Lee had the nerve to accuse me of eating the last fish loaf, when she knew I was on a diet!" Marie ignored him completely and swerved around another corner.

"Brake! Brake!" He continued to yell turning various shades of green as they narrowly avoided a pile of old tires.

Marie swore loudly and slammed both feet on the brakes. Edd's small and somewhat battered car fish tailed side to side before finally screeching to a halt.

"What did you make me do that for?" Marie huffed angrily.

"You're driving skills are atrocious that's what." Double D said furiously. "You don't use your turn signals, you drive much faster than safety regulations, and you refuse to stop at any red lights."

"We're in the junk yard!"

"That's not the point!"

"Well maybe I shouldn't drive then!"

"We'll all be a little safer if you don't!"

"Fine!"

"Fine!"

Marie leapt from the car and slammed the door loudly. He watched as she pulled something out of her pocket and the tell tale plume of smoke rose into the air in front of her.

"Curse my impatient ways." He mumbled under his breath.

He took a couple of breaths to calm himself and left the car. He approached her cautiously with his hands deep in his pocket and leaned beside her against the hood of the car. When she didn't so much as glance at him, he gently put a hand on her shoulder and felt the muscle tense.

"You know," He said awkwardly. "Cigarettes can permanently damage your lungs and throat, hindering speech and regular breathing."

Marie glanced at him coldly with a single raised eyebrow. "And?"

"Well," Edd felt his face heat up. "If you're throat and lungs are damaged, we wouldn't be able to have our wonderful screaming matches."

Marie sputtered out a chuckle and threw her cigarette on the ground. "Dreamboat, you're wonderful."

Edd felt the corners of his mouth twitch upwards. He patted her hand quickly and stood up. "Shall we proceed with your driving lesson?"

Marie rolled her eyes and pulled him back down for a rough kiss on the cheek. "Let's get this over with."

"You were doing quite well earlier." Edd said as she started the engine and started driving. "If you wanted to talk and, er, let off some steam we could have done that today instead."

"Nope." Marie scowled in concentration as she gently rounded a corner. "I told myself that I was gonna be the first of my sisters to get my license and that's what I'm gonna do."

Edd smiled fondly and stared at her beautiful halo of messy blue hair. "That's my turtle dove."
