I'm sitting at my desk doing nothing in particular, when I suddenly feel arms wrap around me. I immediately know who it is, and I feel the warmth creeping up my cheeks.
His lips tickle my ear as he whispers, "Hey Jake. What are you doing?" His voice gives me chills down the back of my neck.
I clear my throat and say, "Nothing much…" He spins my chair around and I'm face to face with him. The tip of his nose brushes mine and the mere touch makes me even redder. Dirk cracks a smile. I wish he wouldn't do that. I sit back in my chair and try to keep my cool. "So what did you want?" I try to ask nonchalantly, but my voice falters a bit.
He stands up and walks to the wall, where he regards a poster. "Oh, nothing really. I guess I just came to see you. He glances over his shoulder at me, and I swallow hard. God, is he straightforward
"O-oh, okay." Dammit, I stuttered. He raises a brow slightly, but says nothing.
I get up quickly and go sit on my bed. As expected, he makes his way over and sits down next to me. I try to avert his gaze through his shades, but his eyes are practically hypnotizing. Distracted by the intense look, I almost don't notice his hand touching mine.
Dirk leans closer and I manage to look down quickly. His other hand reaches up to touch my face. This gesture forces me to look at him again. If anything, he looks even more serious this time. I bite my lip while he leans past my face and his cheek grazes mine as he goes to whisper in my ear again.
"Dirk…" I begin, but I'm cut off by his voice.
"You know I love you, Jake."
That does it. My pulse kicks into high gear, and I can't feel my toes. He trails his lips across my face and we're face to face again. Time stops as he leans in and presses his lips to mine. I shut my eyes and willingly kiss him back. My arms find their way around his neck. He bites my lip, and I accidentally let out a small noise. He smiles against my mouth and I can't help but do so as well. Truthfully, I couldn't be more at ease right now. I slowly run my fingers through his hair and pull him closer.
Dirk's fingers trail down my face and to my neck. My skin tingles where he touches it. He opens his mouth as if to say something, but then the phone rings. He closes his mouth.
"Dirk…" I begin, but he looks away and shakes his head. It's too late. The moment is gone.
"Just answer it…" He says, walking to the door. I sigh and pick up the phone. I turn back, and I start to say I'm sorry, but Dirk is gone.
