Mother, Daughters, Friends

It has been a year since Iemitsu left back for work after four years since their daughter Miyako was born.

He helped raise a baby until he left, sending money home.

He sends 700.000 a month which was big money, enough for mother and daughter to live comfortably while Iemitsu himself pays the bills, leaving everything else to his wife to deal with through the money he sends.

However, years went by the neighbors forgot Nana was married, and a Single Mother with two daughters since Nana was pregnant again and her husband was none-the-wiser. Raising both infant girls, is quite a struggle on the young woman. Her second daughter, is Asami because she was born at around early morning, opposed to her sister who was born at night.

Not only that, because Asami was born when her husband was gone, got the rumor mill circling Nana was forced to do a DNA test to prove her daughters match and thus has the same father.

But the gossip mill is cruel even if she had proof.

The kind housewife has her limits.

What she did, was pack up and leave with her children, calling her husband a liar. It was he who wanted to live in this neighborhood as he said the neighbors are kind since he used to live here before as a kid and built their home here. What a horrible judge of character!

She cried her woes to who would listen, tests on hand.

She then left with her daughters and was never seen again.

That, was what Reborn got wind of when he came here years later to tutor Miyako.

The Sun Arcobaleno who just finished tutoring the current Cavallone Decimo got called by Don Vongola.

He had to talk to the man in private.

'Sorry to call you when you just finished a job with young Cavallone.' said Don Vongola. 'But the matter is dire.'

'I heard about Federico.' Reborn stated.

'Yes...while it pains me, Vongola is at risk of collapse so I searched for a new successor while I'm still grieving over my final son.' Don Vongola shook his head. 'And I found out that Iemitsu kept a secret from me. I made sure he knew my displeasure.' he said stiffly. 'He never said anything down to the end until I had investigated in secret with my Guardians. He has two daughters. 13 years old Miyako and 9 years old Asami. His wife and daughters left town a year after he did. His poor wife, because Asami was born when Iemitsu wasn't around, was subject to cruel gossip and slander she left Namimori. Your job is to find the family with the idiot. Asami is indeed, Iemitsu's second daughter from what we got from DNA Test Records. Have him patch up with his wife, and deal with Namimori.'

'And where is he?'

'Oh, take Brow Nie with you. He'll patch him up when you get there.' said Don Vongola with a smile. 'He put the famiglia at risk. That, I cannot overlook. And he's supposed to be my External Advisor. Granted, I understand his feelings had it been borne out of love and concern for his daughter...but what he said pissed us off.'

'Hooo?' Reborn whistled. 'Someone actually angered you? What did he do?'

The old man's ice was frosty with simmering anger beneath its surface.

'The fool has intolerably sexist views...that he spewed such diatribe, forgetting my guardians and I were around when my mother still ruled Vongola with an Iron Fist, but very fair with a strong sense of justice, wanting to bring back our founder's legacy. She who fought like Athena. She is proof that even women can be powerful, competent leaders. It was she who pulled the famiglia through in the aftermath of World War II when grandfather exhausted famiglia resources to defend our turf. Married late because of that, too.'

Daniela di Vongola married at forty years old when normally, mafioso marry as early as 20-something to have heirs quickly just incase. For Daniela to stay alive and reach 40 before she married spoke well of her abilities. She has three sons and two daughters. Timoteo being her eldest son and heir. Her youngest son who wasn't heir was made to hide in Japan and change his name for safety and for family preservation purposes. It was through that son that Iemitsu was born in the first place.

With his sexist views, Reborn mused, he basically spat on his own grandmother, which was beyond the pale.

No wonder Timoteo was pissed.

'Very well, I will educate one of his daughters, whoever's a Sky.' said Reborn. 'Only Skies can wear the Family Headship Ring, while just anyone can wear the Guardian Rings. But what if both aren't Skies?'

'Well...Xanxus may just get his wish but he cannot wear the family ring and only his wife can wear it.' Timoteo sighed. 'Whoever not of blood wears this ring...will suffer a horrible punishment caused by it. It was in our history. Only a Vongola Sky can safely wear it.'

'There's that. We're grasping at straws here and you know it, old friend.'

'I really hope one of them is a Sky.' Timoteo sighed.

Thus Reborn is in Namimori with Iemitsu to look for trails leading to his family, and to clear up his wife's grief before they look for her.

Problem is...where are they?

In Tokyo Prefecture...

A family of three lives in a 2K Apartment.

With a budget of 700.000 yen, apartment rent was 220000 yen, leaving 480000 yen as daily expenses, forcing Nana to go get a job considering she has schooling and other things to pay for. She earns 378000 yen in her job in a Clerical Setting, enabling her to use well the 700000 yen she gets every month with extra left over.

With budgeting skills, she was able to send her daughters to school, afford the rent and daily expenses.

She home-tutored Miyako for two years before sending her to Elementary in a public school which was cheap, and leaves Asami in Daycare after weaning her off of breastmilk.

Miyako, at a young age, learned the costs of everything and how hard her mother works to keep things perfect.

Nana starts work at 9:00 because she had to drop off Asami in Daycare, and ends nine hours later. Making her daily salary 13500. Multiply that by 7 days its 94500. Multiply that by 4 its 378000 which was pretty good, considering salaries are UNFAIR against women in Japan. Maybe its out of consideration as she's a single mom of two?

So Miyako learned to be responsible early on in life.

As the big sister, she picks up her sister in Daycare after school, and can make Miso Soup or Tofu Soup as its very easy for a child to make to stave off hunger until mom comes home to make REAL FOOD. Miyako also does chores so mother has time for them while relaxing, not time for cleaning the house.

Little Asami grew up seeing her mother and sister very busy. Big sister explained why things are the way they are so Asami also grew up mature for her age.

It was tough being responsible daughters, but they had no choice or their mother will be too worn out if they don't help, and fall ill.

They cannot be like other kids who can play and be carefree after school.

In school...

Miyako met a senpai who was just like her. Mature and serious for his age as well.

They met in a library due to homework issues.

Like senses like but she was the one to talk to him as the senpai wasn't chatty material...but they got along well.

But she started 'seeing things' lately and it scares her...and she learned she has powers when she nearly got killed by a monster, and awakened to fire powers...and senpai saved her from the next few monsters using plants, and had to teach her how to control her flames with the help of his other friend.

They trained together when they could, but Asami had to be nearby for safety. Training ends before 7 pm as mothers come home around that time. By influence, Asami also awakened to powers. If her sister has yellow-orange flames, she has pretty, watery-blue flames. They mainly use it for burning things as they had no idea why their flames are 'so weird'. Even senpai and his friend are at a loss. But hanging out with them...gave the girls an interesting set of morals.

They were pretty close in their own way, as the older boys were the aloof but 'always there' types.

And now, at present date...with Miyako being 13, Asami 9 and their senpai in High School...

Things changed, when one day, senpai's mother fell ill.

Beyond even his own abilities.

So he had an idea. Steal what he needs.

'Steal what for your mother? Can it even save her?' Miyako asked her senpai worriedly.

'Yes, it can.' senpai smiled. 'I know just what I need for the job.'

'Well, this is Reikai we're talking about, Kurama.' said the other friend. 'But for backing you up, I'll take my own treasure as pay.'

'Of course.' Kurama, the red-haired boy smiled. 'What about you Miyako? Want anything?'

'How would I know what I want when I don't know what's in there?' Miyako sweatdropped. 'And we have no time for window-shopping because we're stealing!'

'Well, what type of items would you want?' Kurama asked her.

'Well, anything involving body rejuvenation and restoration.' said Miyako. 'To avert bad health disasters since mom's working busier hours since we got independent at home...mom might fall ill next after yours after you cure her. She's looking thinner and weaker lately.' she fretted out.

'Well, there's one such item in the vaults.' said the black-cloaked boy. 'We know what it looks like.'

'Yosh, how soon do we start?!' Miyako piped up. 'Senpai and I can split my item both ways too and Hiei-san can make mom and everyone in her workplace forget how stressed she looks lately after we use it!

'How about tonight? Tonight is crucial.' said Kurama. 'Hiei, have you decided yours?'

'Aa. I'm going to need an extra boost for something.' Hiei smirked. 'The thing I'm after is not easy you know.'

Reikai, through Astral Projection...

'Uweee, this is the Afterlife?' Miyako whispered out her marvel as they arrived. 'Looks something out of chinese historical flicks!'

'Not really, this place is just Judgment.' said Hiei as they ran for it. 'Souls pass here first and their deeds from their life analyzed whether they're worthy of afterlife, quick reincarnation or punishment. If this was afterlife, we'll really be dead just for stepping foot here.'

'Gulp!'

Sneaking around begun thus, and knocking out the ogres carrying paperwork.

Upon arrival in the vaults, Kurama broke through security with hilarious ease!

'My gawd...security sucks if senpai can break through in just three minutes.' Miyako looked around. 'I was expecting trouble.'

'Well, good thing they're lax. Overconfidence is costly, Miyako-chan.' Kurama chuckled, obtaining a mirror and a beautiful potion bottle for her while Miyako found something that caught her eye. It was a book. 'Ara, found something else you like?'

'This! What can it do?' Miyako asked her as Hiei took a sword for himself before they ran for it.

'Its a book wherein you drop your blood on it, and then your bloodline will appear from ancestor to present-day descendants.' said Kurama. 'The life and deeds of each member is written on the book. But the writings disappear within 24 hours, so rip the pages off to make the writings stay. Don't worry, the torn pages will regenerate for the next user, while you get to keep your prints permanently. That's a rather neat item you took interest in.'

'Heeee...so that bottle is what we need for our moms?' Miyako eyed the bottle Kurama had with him.

'Yes. I'll teach you how to use this medicine later. Its something that cannot be handled carelessly.'

The alarms blared when they were outside.

'...you gotta be kidding me, late reaction much?!' Miyako sweatdropped.

'Feh, they're idiots. Its to be expected.' Hiei snorted. 'Let's go.' and they escaped.

Human world...back to their bodies with their respective items...

'Got them.' Hiei smirked. 'I can make a thousand minions at will with this.' he said, looking at his sword.

'What for? Wouldn't that attract unwanted attention on you?' Miyako pointed out. 'Having lots of youkai around is eye-catching!' that was apparently, her concern not because she worried about other humans in the way!

'Heh, its easy to clean up.'

'If you say so...'

'Well, let's enjoy our booty.' said Kurama. 'Take care not to be noticed.' and they split-up.

It was by next day, after school that Reikai finally determined who were the thieves.

But upon getting home, Miyako already got what she wanted. But...the truth isn't always a good thing...

'Senpai! Waaaah!' Kurama sweatdropped when in Chemistry Club, Miyako came to his school crying. 'It's terrible!'

'Miyako-chan?!'

Considering the situation, he had to get her out of school. Fast.

(little did he know that a gossip that he likes younger girls spread fast)

Sawada Residence...

Kurama saw that the apartment is eerily quiet.

'What happened, Miyako?' Kurama asked her as he took off his shoes.

'O-our family history...' Miyako sniffled. 'We're linked to the Italian Mafia through dad!'

'...what...?' was Kurama's weak reply.

They DID say the truth sucks sometimes...he just has no idea how BAD it'd be in Miyako's case...
