Mei could not believe what she saw.

Ever since she had moved into this apartment a year ago her bathroom counter had been covered with her beauty products. Her hair care products, skin care products and makeup usually occupied the entire counter.

Now, all of that was gone.

Nothing remained of her once great stash of beauty products and there was only one person who could've snuck in here and taken her beauty products while she showered:

"KAORU!" Mei screamed at the top of her lungs.

The bathroom door opened and Kaoru's head appeared in the opening. A lecherous grin appeared on his face at the sight of Mei in nothing but a snowy white towel.

"Yes?" He asked innocently. Mei's blood began to boil when she realized that he wasn't even looking at her face.

"WHAT did you do with MY beauty products?" Mei shouted as she tried to pull the towel up further.

Kaoru's eyes finally moved up to Mei's face. "Beauty products? What beauty products?" Kaoru asked in that all too innocent tone.

Mei's eyes narrowed to mere slits, "My hair products, skin products, and makeup!"

"OH, THOSE beauty products. Why, I have no idea where they are now." Kaoru replied even more innocently as he stepped all the way inside the bathroom and leaned casually against the all too empty counter.

Mei completely lost her temper then. How DARE he take the only things that made her beautiful away and then lie about it!

She went at him swinging.

He was ready for her.

He easily caught her wrists in his hands. Once she realized she was caught tears sprang into her eyes as she yelled, "Stop lying! You took them! You took what I need to be beautiful!"

"Silly, Mei," Kaoru muttered as he closed the gap between them and gave her a quick kiss on her makeupless nose.

Instinctively, Mei tried to pull backwards, all this did though was cause her towel to come undone and slip to the floor.

Kaoru eyed her up and down once before meeting her eyes. "Mei, you look even more beautiful without the makeup."

"No I don't!" Mei yelled as she struggled to get away from his gaze.

Kaoru let go of her wrists and snaked his arms around her, pulling her to his chest. He just held her like that for a moment while she cried against him.

When her crying quieted he reached down and brought her left hand up to his mouth and placed a gentle kiss on the ring that he had given her a year before.

"Mei, you don't need those things to be beautiful in my eyes."

Her head tilted up and her eyes met his again, "Really?"

"Really, I love you, not the beauty products."

Mei didn't say anything to this, all she did was hold him tighter. She was no longer bothered by the loss of her beauty products because she had finally realized that beauty isn't everything after all.

Author's Note: So, this was on LJ, in music room #3 and I didn't win, but I still had fun writing it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
