He was going to do it. Never mind the fact that he swore he would never tell her. Never mind that he threatened those who did know not to tell her. He was going to tell her the truth this time. Not another bullshit lie about her brother being dead or missing or whatever.

It just wasn't worth her crying over. It wasn't worth the frustrated look on her face when he told her that he had no idea where her brother was or even a name for her. It wasn't worth the look of pity and a gentle "It's all right. I'm sure you're trying your best." It just wasn't worth it. So here goes nothing.

"Yukina. I need to tell you something." His gaze was pointed at the fascinating ground.

"Is it about my brother?" she was so determined, Hiei dully noted.

"Yes."

"So, you have news on him?" Yukina took a step towards him. Hiei's gaze continued to stay on the ground.

"Yes."

"Do you know his location?" She cut him off before he could tell her. Just briefly his eyes flickered up to hers then back at the ground. He had to tell her before he lost his nerve.

"Yes. I-"

"And his name? You know his name?" Once more she cut him off. This time Hiei shuffled his feet a bit. His gaze now traveling to all things but his sister.

"Yes. I-"

"Did you talk to him? What did he have to say?"

"Yes I did. He-"

"And of course now would be the perfect time to stop lying and just come out and tell me the truth."

"Yes. It would…" Wait. Did she just say…but then that would mean…but…

Hiei looked at her in confusion, realization, and fear. She knew? Why would she want to confront him about it then? Why wasn't she rejecting him like all the other women in his life….Well excluding Mukuro but she didn't count. Mukuro was Mukuro after all. She was a fighter. But Yukina. Why?!?!?!?

"You. Knew?" He looked for any sign on her face. Anything that would let him know what she was thinking. She smiled.

"Of course. It was a fun game though wasn't it?"

A game? She thought it was a game? And she KNEW!

"How?" it came out such a soft whisper and her smile disappeared.

"Wait, was it suppose to be a secret?"

Hiei just stared at her. She knew. And she thought it was a game. And she didn't know that it was suppose to be a secret….huh.

"It's all right Hiei. There was no way to keep it a secret from me. I'm empathic. Just like you're telepathic. I knew what it was that you felt for me. Even before we met. When you didn't say anything I assumed you didn't know. But then Kurama-kun told me that it was just a game." Again she smiled.

Kurama, eh? A game, eh? He was going to die. Painfully. And slowly. And then Hiei would bring him back from the brink of death, and thank him. Then kill him again. Yup. That was the plan.

"So? What's our next game going to be?" Hiei looked back up at Yukina. She wasn't serious was she?

"I'm kidding. I think you've been through enough shock for one day. How about some tea?"

Hiei didn't remember letting his sister take his hand and guide him inside. He didn't remember taking the cup of tea. But he did remember her saying one word. Family.
