The Ravaging of Time
Remilia awoke one morning earlier than normal. She was awoken by the sound of wings fluttering above her side window. She got up, her silken dressing gown sliding slowly down her legs, as she walked over to the window. Upon opening it, a burst of wind caught her wings, and she felt the urge to spread them and fly. She flew out into the updraft and above the clouds. She saw a vague imprint upon the sun, and as it hurtled toward her, she realized it was someone she had known for a long time. It was her old friend Caraji, from the land of ForFrost. He bumped into her, and they spiraled down several stories before they finally caught the wind to raise them again.
"We have to stop meeting like this" said Remilia. "Yes, well it hasn't been easy being me right now, my land is under peril" said Caraji. "Oh, tell me what has happened" said Remilia. "Well, an ancient evil stirs in the gates of Time, and it cannot be released, for if it is, all of Time shall suffer" said Caraji. "Well, we shall head there immediately then" said Remilia. "Take my hand, and do not lose grip, or you shall spiral into the black void of time" said Caraji. "Very well" said Remilia, taking Caraji's hand.
They arrived shortly after they left, dropping onto a cliff that overlooked a babbling brook. Remilia gasped as she saw dead, festering things flowing down the river, turning the water sickly green with mold and rot. She covered her nose with a silk handkerchief as she descended down to the stairs that would lead them to the dreaded HellGates of Time. You see, there are two massive ebony doors that lead to two completely different places, the HellGates of Time, and the SpiritGates of Life. When someone dies in ForFrost, depending on what they did, their immortal soul goes to one of these two massive gates, and there it is stored until Fiaronanaviesch, or The Coming of the Spirits.
Remilia took Caraji's hand again, and they walked down, down into the deep abyss, down into the dark. For a while, they stumbled and fell, until they saw a damp, greenish light coming off of the walls. Caraji knelt down and examined a pile of rocks that glowed blue, like the sun reflecting off the sea. It was an interesting glow, until Caraji touched it, and it disappeared, evaporating into the air. Suddenly, a massive roar shook the ground, and Remilia heard a great "BASH!" sound. "The beast awakens, we must move quickly" said Caraji. She and he ran down the long hallway, taking rights and lefts, until they reached a massive cave. In the center was a great dragon, chained around the neck, arms, legs, tail, and body, to ensure its never leaving the cave. Upon their arrival, the dragon lifted its head, a great torrent of flame shooting out towards them. Caraji pushed Remilia out of the way, taking the full blast right in the chest, turning to cinders on the spot.
As the fire died, Remilia's rage increased, her mighty powers surging through her hands, she shook the cave, and a massive daemon, the size of the entirety of Gensokyo, erupted from the ground, and rent the dragon from head to tail, before tossing it down its gullet. The daemon belched, and disappeared. As the daemon disappeared, Remilia snapped her fingers, reappearing back in her bedchambers, and went back to sleep.
