Chapter One: This Deep Feeling
"Come on Henry I know green peas are not the most appatizing of meals but there good for you." Penelope trying to convince her one year old godson to eat the organic smashed baby food but he was getting more on his bib than in his mouth. "You want to grow to be as strong as your daddy don't you?" After fifteen more minutes the baby managed to be feed most of his dinner as a satisfaction to his godmother that it was now time to call it a night. "All right my little cherub it's time for you bath then it's off to dreamland." Garcia picked up the messy baby heading to draw Henry's bath upstairs in JJ and Will's house. The two went out on a date night something well deserved after the load of cases the BAU had been taking lately. Now that things have slowed down those two could finally get in some much needed alone time. Since their regular babysister was sick JJ came to Garcia and asked if she would mind watching Henry tonight. Never one to miss the chance to spend time with her adorable godson she readily agreed. Penelope loved being as she called her self a fairy godmother. She loved shopping for and playing with little Henry and Jack Hotchner.
Later while cleaning the kitchen after putting Henry to bed she couldn't help but wonder what it would feel like tucking her own child in at night after a long day at work and running around after them all day. Although she was happy being the aunt she knew that being a mother was something she always wanted. Since loosing her own parents and being estranged from her stepbrothers she longed for a family of her own one day. In the last few years her dating life left alot to be desired never quite being with a guy long enough to even consider marriage. Except for seeing Kevin Lynch for awhile who even though on the surface looked like he could be the one for her turns out they are better as friends. He proposed the idea of marriage but without the hassle of bringing children into it and after hearing that Penelope knew she couldn't accept. Kevin surprised her and said that he understood. " A woman like you was made to a mother and shouldn't let that dream go. What ever happens I still be here for you." She was relieved by his words knowing that she didn't reuin a good friendship even if the romantic side was over with. Time was ticking and she like everyone else wasn't getting any younger. I don't know if I can wait around to be in another relationship to see if that is the man I'll have kids with I want a baby soon.
The front door opened as she sitting on the sofa lost in her own thoughts. JJ and Will walk in looking happy from their night out. Jj walks over to Garcia who hasn't seemed to notice their arrival. " Garcia , Garcia Earth to Garcia" said Jj repeatedly trying to get her attention. Penelope looked up " Oh sorry guys I didn't hear you come in did you have a great night?" " We did but you look troubled is everything ok with you?" Will asked hanging his jacket up in the entryway closet. " I'm good your prince in sound asleep upstairs he didn't even make it last the third page of Courious George before he was out for the count."Garcia smiled at the memory. " Well it sounds to me like he had a really good time hanging with his godmother tonight. Thanks for watching him for us Pen if you too tired your I could drive you home or your welcome to stay the night." Will offered her. Shaking her head " No I can can make it home safe on my own I'll leave you two love birds to enjoy the reast of your night." Garcia replied grabbing her purse heading towarfs the door. " I'll walk you to the car" said JJ following behind her. " Ok goodnight. I'm gonna check on Henry then I'll draw you a bath Mrs." Will said before kissing JJ on the lips before gigoi upstairs two at a time. Walking to the car JJ could sense something was wrong with Penelope and wanted to ask her about it thats why she wanted to walk her to her car and not ask about it in front of Will.
" Garcia what's going on with you I noticed you look a little sad when Will and I came home tonight?" JJ asked trying not to show she profiling her to get some idea of the issue. She knew that her and Kevin had broken up on good terms even after she had rejected his proposal so she knew Garcia wasn't torn up over that.
"I'm ok my blonde haired goddess . I've just had a lot of time lately to think about my life and what I need in it right now and I want a baby. I want my own family to live and come home to don't get me wrong the team is my family and love you all so much." Garcia explained to her. " You don't have to explain I know what you mean. Even though it's hard balancing my job with my family I wouldn't give up Will and Henry for anything in the world. You Pen disserve to have that too" JJ said while hugging her dear friend in understanding.
"Thanks JJ , you and Will are an ispinspiration but I'm tired if waiting for the right guy to come along in order to have all of that right now I just want a baby and I'm going to make it happen ony own. I've decided to look into in vitro fertilization. I thaoght about adoptoad but I want to experience carrying my own little mircale. I will be hard being a single mom but many women do it every day I can too." stated Penelope . JJ had no dought that she couldn't when Garcia was passionate about something nothing and blno one could stand in her way.
"You'll make a great mother Pen and you won't have to to do this alone. I'll be here for you any thing you need I there every step of the way and im sure the rest of the team will support you too." JJ told her as Pen got into her car and started the ild girl up. " Thanks JJ I knoe but until everything is settled I just want this to stay between us two ok."
"I promise you have nothing to worry about. Hold up you even want to keep this desisiod from Derek" asked JJ
"Yes, Derek is a bachelor who he himself isnt ready for kids I don't think he would understand my choice to go through with this and may try to talk me out of it, but either way my mind is made up."
"All right we can meet tomorrow and I'll help you get started with anything you need to know." said a ancious JJ
"Thanks JJ for doing this for night noe get back to that hunky husband of yours" Garcia waved pulling bout the driveway towards home.
Everything s going to be work out she thought. I going be a mommy. Something that both excited and terrified her all at once.
Next Chapter 2. How will the rest of the team react when the find out Penelope'' plans?
