The Money

Ash had grown to love Misty. It was his little secret, and he never let anyone know. What would they do if they found out that this Pokemon Trainer, who was going to be the greatest, was in love with a girl like Misty? Nevermind that, what if they found out he was in love? He smiled at her as she was laughing with Pikachu. Misty felt Ash's eyes on her, and she turned to look back at him.

"What are you looking at?" she asked, not rudely.

Caught off guard Ash was able to stammer out, "Nothing. I was noticing how Pikachu was really happy today."

"Isn't he always happy?" Misty said confused, and tilted her head a little.

"Well, yes... but he's happier than usual... I mean..."

"Just shut up. You don't know what you're talking about," she looked away, and then up at the sky. "It's such a nice day."

"I know. Like the day we first met," Ash said and smiled to himself.

"Yes, the day we first met... Hmm... So, when are you going to pay me back for my bike?" Misty wondered.

"Yeah, the bike money. I'll pay you back, I swear."

"Well, hurry up with it; it's getting annoyed waiting for you to pay me back," Misty growled.

Ash looked away. He would soon have enough money to pay her back, but would she stay with him? Would Misty leave him? Ash pondered these thoughts over the months, and when he finally gained enough money he would tell her how he felt.

"I have the money," Ash randomly cried out one day. He had been stalling the last couple of days, because he didn't know how to tell Misty.

"You do? That's great!" Misty smiled, a smiled that looked relieved. "Give it to me."

"Uh, sure," Ash searched around him pocket. Maybe Misty was going to stay. He gave the money over, and Misty began to count it. "Um, Misty, I want to tell you that I really care about you."

"Uh-huh," Misty mumbled not listening, counting her money.

"And I hope you might stay to travel the rest of the way with me."

"Why would I do that?" Misty looked up. "I was only going to stay with you until you paid me back. And you did. So, I'll be going now."

"Wait, you can't!"

"You're a fool, Ash."

"I love you," he whispered.

"I don't care. You're a fool to think any girl like me would fall for you," and she walked off, turning the other direction.

The End.

So, I would really like it if you people would criticize it, because I want to write a good anti-love AAM fic. Thanks!
