Davros.
He says to many that we do not feel anything besides hatred towards our enemies, loyalty to our kind only, and respect to Devros - our creator. This is untrue.
I should know, because I am a Dalek. I am Sa-ack, The One Who Feels. My own kind betrayed me, and I betrayed them. They left me here, in an asylum, hoping to protect themselves the same fate. Because many believe a Dalek can only survive if they succumb to their own shells. I know of several who already have destroyed themselves as they feared their own feelings.
You see, we Daleks are not truly creatures that only hate. We are forced to do so, because of the shells that contain us. Emotion cannot get through our outer selves unless it is turned to hate and fear and confusion. A word we speak is turned to something horrible, and a feeling that might be love is turned to laser fire. We are manipulated into thinking that we are such great warriors with such hearts as stone.
We Daleks are trapped within ourselves, emprisoned within our own fear, bodies, and programming. And yet we do not know it. It is a fact most cannot see, because if they did their own casings would turn against themselves.
This is our woe. To be chained without knowing, to be controlled while thinking we were free, and to force ourselves to refrain from the inevitable.
...and the only one who might be able to free us...
...he is blind to our suffering...
