AN- This is a re-write in progress. I was not happy with how unfinished the original seems.

I know the divine Ms. Rowling has written essays on the Malfoy family for Pottormore and that my take on Scorpious varies from hers.

My other fics, especially Draco, will give you a better understanding of my view.

The school years of Rose and Scorpius have been covered in other fics of mine.

As has their young adulthood.

This is will begin after they have settled in to married life, with a wee bit of foundation building, involving those early years.

Rose played for the Harpies directly after school, until it just wasn't fun anymore. Her cousin James invested his quiditch earnings well and bought the Cannons, who he had played for, after retiring from playing.

Rose is the best of her parents. Analytical and shrewd as her father and possessed of her mother's remarkable memory and intellect.

James knew she was best suited to work as the CEO of the Cannons.

Scorpius has a fierce loathing for injustice, and a need to right the wrongs associated with his family name. He began auror training the September after graduating.

We find them at a time where they have known triumph and tragedy. Rose's best friend, James's wife, her grandpa Arthur and her muggle grandparents have died.

Years of infertility treatments have failed.

The opening scene is at the cottage she inherited from the Grangers. It is near the burrow, where Rose and Hugo grew up.

Molly and Arthur had moved to Hogsmede, giving the family home to Ron.

The greater Weasley/Potter family is comfortably well off. Harry had inherited both the Potter and Black family fortunes.

Even after settling the Black fortune in to a trust for Teddy Lupin he had enough to never have had to work again.

Ginny' s earnings from quiditch and as a reporter and author, swelled their finances.

George, with help from Ron, Bill, Harry and his wife Angelina, grew WWW in to a global company.

He and Angie were generous with gifts of stock in the company, seeing their family as the those who stood by and proped up the business during tbe rebuilding years.

Fleur was possessed of a sharp mind and deep knowledge of investing. Starting with Harry, she soon advised or flat out managed, the family's investments. Then she opened her own business, those revenues, Bill's salary from Gringotts and then his move to WWW, as it's CFO, gave tgem a comfortable life.

The Malfoy's wealth was deeply reduced by Lucious' fanatical support of the wrong side during the war and the penalties after.

He went to prison for a short time after the war and Narcissa eventually divorced him.

Draco and she moved to France, put their heads down and began rebuilding their lives and financial foundation.

In Astoria Draco found a loving, incredibly bright and compassionate partner. She had a knack for locating property in up and comming areas, buying low, renovating and selling high.

Now to the original author's note.

AN- Plot bunnies come in all shapes and sizes. This one was a gift from Shadow82ABN, one of my faithful reviewers. I actually thought that I was going back to work on Happy Place, LOL.

Rose was digging in the deep brown, moist earth. Her mum had given her a start from the fluttering bush at the Burrow and she needed to get it planted and watered in.

Of course she could have used magic to tend her garden, but she had spent her youth working this patch of Otter St. Catchpole along side of grandparents. The feel of the warming earth and the pleasent ache in her lower back were sensations she relished.

Satisfaction was tinged with sadness, it was doubtful that family would continue to nourish and, in turn, gather nourishment from this ground. The years of unrealized dreams weighed heavy upon her heart.

She loved and adored Hugo's children, spending many happy hours with them. After Maggie had died, James's girls and she had become particularly close. But there was still an ache that would not be filled unless she held a child of her own.

The day had been productive. Bushes were pruned, weeds had been pulled and tender young plants tended to. It was evening now.

Scorpius was far from Devon, following a lead. So after a long soak in the tub she had enjoyed a salad of baby greens, thinned from the rows in her garden, pasta and a glass of sweet red wine.

Office work would wait until Monday, there were no games to catch on the cableless and her Da had sent word not to expect her husband home tonight. So she curled up next to the small fire that was chasing away the evening chill.

As she drifted toward sleep, her mind wandered back to Hogwarts and the first time she had met Scorpius...

AN- While I rewrite this fic there will be some overlap in the chapters. I apologize.
