One year later

Amelia F. Jones arrived home from work to remember that Ivan was not going to be home. Second thought, Ivan no longer lived here after the giant argument they had. All of his belongings, even some furniture, were gone. The engagement ring she took off this morning was still on the counter and she had to replace the dishes that he broke the night before. The house was such a mess.

He was a nice man too.

It was over. Just like the friendship with Arthur that she wrecked because of Ivan. Everything was her fault and she had to pick it up all over again. She missed having company, even if it was with a grumpy British dude. Her thoughts she used to have about Arthur being the "sexist pig" and "pathetic man" was all behind her at this point. She liked him and so did he and what did she do? Went out with her worst enemy from high school.

I thought he changed.

She had ten voice-mail messages thanks to his obsessive younger sister and the trouble she spreads whenever something bad happened to Ivan. She could hardly wait what was in store for her. At this point, she was glad she deleted her Facebook account before any of this happened.

I wonder if Artie is not busy.

She stared at her phone, the digital clock changing from 4:23 to 4:24 pm. The wallpaper was that one time that he made chicken soup for her and didn't sabotage it. Was that a year ago? Who knows these days…?

Should I call him?

It felt like centuries since she talked to Arthur. Along with anyone else that was not friends with Ivan. After the beginning of this year, it was nothing but "Amelia I love you." "Amelia let me whisper some romantic Russian in your ear." It surely kept her busy.

She thought about it once more, if she talked to Arthur once again, it might be one hell of an awkward friendship. She was pretty confident that Arthur still hated her at this point.

What should I do?
