Alaina was in her bed in a deep sleep. The room was dark. The fairy lights above her bed were off and everything seemed to be in black, white, and gray. Nothing would be seen if it weren't for the light of the full moon shining through Alaina's open window, casting shadows across her walls from the numerous pictures and posters overlaying the navy blue paint. The solid pink curtains fluttered as the cold, fall wind blew into the bedroom. Suddenly, the radio on the nightstand next to Alaina's head turned on, blasting some overrated pop song at maximum volume. The girl sat up in her bed at an incredible speed and clamped her hands over her ears, eyes squeezing shut. The lights in her room started flickering on and off and the radio started blasting a high frequency sound. Alaina screamed in her head, 'Why can't anyone hear this,' before remembering that she had just recently turned 19 and moved out of her room at her parents house into a cozy, secluded building out in the middle of a field in Idaho, not far from her parents.

Everything in the room turned off at the exact moment bright, fluorescent green lights danced through Alaina's window and across her walls. She opened her eyes and uncovered her ears. Alaina flicked a stray strand of her sleek, straight, chocolate brown hair out of her confused, emerald green eyes before rushing to her window to get a glimpse of what she had correctly guessed, had woken her up at 2:45 in the morning from her peaceful sleep of cats, memes, and hipster themes. She had to shield her eyes because the vibrant lights were practically blinding her. Somehow, through the dirt flying around and green lights, she saw an ivory white oval shaped…thing floating down from the midnight blue sky. She wanted to get a closer look and see what the foreign object was so she darted out of her room, down the stairs, out her front door and onto her cracked, concrete porch.

Alaina got there just in time to see the thing land on her lawn and she could do nothing but watch as a rectangular opening began to appear on the side of the oval facing her. Alaina assumed it was a door as soon as she saw a long white pathway extend from the aperture and end on the now barren ground in front of the entity. Alaina was almost frozen in place when nothing happened after that. She blinked and suddenly someone was in front of her. She was so startled she fell back onto the deck, hard. She sharply sucked in a harsh breath of air and looked at what had appeared in front of her at such an inhuman speed.

At first glance she realized that what was in front of her was most certainly not a someone and it was more of a something. Her visage was immediately drawn to the glowing orb hanging from its head sort of like an anglerfish's light. She was then taken aback when she noticed that this thing had no face. It didn't take long for her to realize that this was an alien. It was the size of an average human male. The alien was all white and had long limbs, not ending at any hands or feet since it didn't have any. It then reached for Alaina's head and she screamed as the glowing green light on its head started glowing even brighter. Then, in seconds, Alaina was an exact copy of the alien. She quickly understood the motives of the extraterrestrial creature clearly. She was taken onto the ship. The door closed and the pathway was brought up as the ship rose up and flew away.
