Alan Blunt,

I'm not even sure I CAN forgive you. But we're supposed to write a letter to someone that we need to forgive for a stupid writing project. Really, can you do me a favor next time, and NOT put Fox undercover as my English teacher? French, maths, or German – anything but English.

PLEASE!

Maybe I should introduce you to Tom Harris. He has just as many complaints as I do.

Oh well. I suppose it could be worse. You could've put EAGLE as my English teacher.

Anyway, I was going to write to Wolf and say I was sorry for kicking his arse out of the plane, but when it really comes down to it, I'm not sorry I did it. That move probably saved his career, and what did he thank me with? More torment.

Anyway, onto the assignment. I'm supposed to forgive you. The problem is, I don't know if I can. Let's face it, Blunt. I may have saved the planet, but it's killed me inside. I don't have emotion anymore. Thank God Fox is my guardian now. I know you fought against that. WHY? Why would you fight against that?

HOW DARE YOU?

I don't know if I can forgive you for what you did to me. Oh, sure, you never personally laid a hand on me, but you sure did hurt me directly. Jack was killed because of you.

Why couldn't you have left us alone?

I think I'd better write to Wolf instead. This letter doesn't complete the requirement t all.

Alex Rider

A very tired-looking Alex Rider stood next to his guardian's desk. "Fox, I don't really think all these English assignments are helping the students."

"They're easy to grade," Fox said dismissively, "and they teach what the GSCE says you need to know. Would you rather do four-page essays? Or ten?"

"No, I guess not," Alex muttered, looking downcast. "But seriously, did you even get your English degree?"

Fox shrugged. "That's for me to know, and for you to find out. How did your assignment go, anyway?" he asked. Fox had kept Alex for detention all week so that they could both get some work done. It had proved to be entertaining, to say the least. Fox smirked at the shreds of paper on Alex's desk.

"I think I'm going to write to Wolf instead."
