Chapter 1: The Ring
I was actually going to do it.
I, Ian Kabra, was actually going to propose to Amy Cahill. I had it all figured out, too. I would take her to see
Catching Fire, the second movie in the Hunger Games series. It had just come out, and although I knew she hated
to go to movies that had just come out because the tickets were too expensive, and even though I hated trying to
make my way through the crowds of people coming to see the movie, we both wanted to see, anticipating good
things based on the turnout of the first movie. After the movie we would go to her favorite Italian place, Donatello's.
When we were done eating, I would take her to the park near our apartment, where Natalie and Dan, who had
already agreed to the plan, would have plates of cheesecake, lime for her and turtle pecan for me, on a picnic
blanket. After we ate, I would take her down to the lake in the park, where fireworks would explode, and when she
looked in the reflection in the water (the words were backwards if you looked to the sky), it would spell out "Will
you marry me, Amy?" I would bring out the ring, and, well, hopefully she'd say yes. Now, where to find those
fireworks...
