A/N
May as well state from the start that this is based on the poem Jaberwocky by Lewis Carroll. However, hopefully it makes slightly more sense.
Disclaimer: Microsoft and Bungie own the Halo franchise.
Parasite
I was waiting above a stone hard shrine,
Which lay there silently in the rain.
My mind returned to protocols,
Which had been given in the time of pain.
...
"Beware the parasite my son!
The claws that cleave, the tides that splash.
Always use your energy beam,
For they are immune to being bashed."
(But not in Halo 3. Yay!)
...
I prepped my in-built energy beam,
And for long the parasite I sought.
I quickly found some Carrier Forms,
And burnt the Infection Forms they'd brought.
...
And as I waited and hovered there,
A Reclaimer in a strange plane,
Came descending through the air,
His radio crackling as he came.
...
Could containment be his job to do?
My zoom function went in and back.
Would he execute his job well through,
Or would the parasite beat him back?
...
The clock was ticking and time was flowing,
But here I had one who was not coy.
"Oh fabulous day! Pip pip hooray!"
I giggled in my joy.
...
I made my way up to the Reclaimer,
Atop the tower of a warp station.
Unfortunately that same Reclaimer
Blew up my Installation!
