One-shot/Drabble. Ren centric.

-

Ren often feels secretly that he owes an awful lot to certain people. Often, he thinks he has a debt which he doesn't think that he will ever be able to be repay. Certainly not a traditional sense anyway. No amount of money could pay it off and he does not believe that he has within himself the right emotional quirks that would allow him to verbally say "thank you" or to physically do something of equal meaning.

Indeed, it's not that just feels he owes a lot, but he knows it. He owes a lot to those people, more specifically he owes a lot to those two. Ren often wonders how he is supposed to repay a boy who is too laid back for saving him and a boy who gets on his last nerve for showing something akin to friendship.

Gratitude is something Ren regularly feels but never shows. Often, he catches glances from those people, those two, and somehow he sees some sort of pride in their eyes and for a moment he feels like gratitude may be enough because they understand how he is.

Consequently, those two often share similar thoughts that Ren will never have to repay them, because seeing him change and experience the things he would never have done before, that is enough for them. Certainly, they often think it's enough for everyone else too.
