- Chapter 1: Ky's First Day -
Director: So, child. You would like to become a freelancer. How interesting. Last year when we approached you and asked you if you did, you said, " Hell no, old man". Care to explain this sudden change of heart?
Ky: Well, I want to now. That's all that matters. So what about it, Dr Church?
Director: Well, since you asked so nicely. But I will assign you a guide to help on your first day. Carolina! Please come here!
Carolina runs to the Director's office.
Carolina: Yes sir?
Director: We have a new agent today, and I entrust you to be his guide.
Carolina: I would be honored to escort our new agent, sir.
Director: Good. Dismissed, agents.
They leave the room and head to the quarters. She shows him his room.
Carolina: This is your room. You will share a bunk with Agent Idaho.
Ky: So... Carolina,huh? Good states. May I ask if you're North or South Carolina?
Carolina: I'm technically both, I guess.
Ky: Cool. Well, want to hang out? Well, by that I mean, like, get to know each other better or some stupid shit like that?
Carolina: I guess. So, what do you do in your spare time?
Ky: Usually either read or play video games. But sometimes I train.
Carolina: That's good. I usually just hang out with York and Wash, who you'll meet later.
Ky: OK. My question is... are you single?
Carolina: Are you hitting on me?
Ky: No, just wondering. Are you?
Carolina: Yes. Now, do you want to meet everyone?
Ky: Yeah but will it be in the lunchroom? I'm starving.
Carolina: Sure Kentucky. Just... be nice to everyone, please. Even if they start shit. Or at least try.
Ky: Got it. Are we friends?
Carolina: I'd say so.
Ky: Thanks. I now have a friend, someone to talk to.
Carolina: No problem Ky.
Ky: I think this is the start of something beautiful.
Carolina: Okay, well get some rest. We've got a big day ahead of us.
Ky: Well, see you later, Carolina.
Carolina: Have a good nap.
Ky: You too.
(4 hours later)
Kentucky knocked on Carolina's door to get her awake, so they could go eat lunch.
Carolina: Be there in a sec!
She comes to the door.
Ky: Hey Carolina. How are you?
Carolina: I slept good. You ready for lunch?
Ky: Always. I'm also excited to meet your friends.
Carolina: Well, Wash is my roommate. Here he is.
Wash walks to the door.
Ky: Hello Wash. I'm Kentucky. Pleased to meet you.
Wash: Formal.
Wash yawns and shakes Ky's hand.
Wash: So, you'll be eating lunch with us?
Ky: And hanging out, yes.
Wash: Ok. Carolina, is he funny?
Carolina: Pretty funny.
Ky: No, you're pretty. I'm funny.
Carolina: Not a good example.
Ky: Not an example. Just the truth.
Carolina: Are you flirting with me?
Ky: Not yet.
Ky winks at her.
Wash: Not another York...
York: You called?
Wash: Hey York. This is Kentucky.
York: Hey dude. Give me knuckles.
Holds out his fist.
Ky: Hell yeah.
Ky gives him a fistbump.
York: Sweet, he's got a good sense of humor.
Carolina: Ready for lunch guys?
Wash: Yeah
