Because I'm obviously horrible and I just got a new computer, I decided to actually post something for once.

Nothing is better than a steaming cup of coffee and a book. At least, that's what Kaneki Ken would have told you before his one fateful day. But that's a story for another time. Right now he was in a bit of a predicament. See, when bump into your past self — and I very literally mean bump — you tend to stare.
A forgotten book is laying on the ground from the black haired boy (something that has only happened once in his life besides now), and the hoodie from the other has slipped off his head and long since been forgotten. The sun shining brightly and the green grass all around betrays how the amber eyed, white haired boy feels. It takes a lot to shock him, but this, he thinks, is the icing on the cake.
A fumbling apology starts pouring from the nine year old boy as he bows and then drops to collect his book. A faint, amused smile plays across Kaneki's face when he finally sees the irony in all this; all the reading has payed off, he guesses. After all, how can anything get much worse than this?
As the black-haired boy walks off, Kaneki pulls his hood back over his head. When he peers from underneath his the hood of his sweatshirt, he can see a golden haired boy, an eight year old Hide, sitting on a bench waiting for his past self.
When they finally start talking (and Kaneki is watching from a distance, mind you), he can't make out the words, but he can see the small, shy smile creep onto his past self's lips while Hide smiles his warm, bright one that could blind the Earth.
As the white haired Kaneki turns away from a small reminder of the past that he's just seen, he can only mumble to himself, "Life's gonna suck for you, kid."
When he looks back, not five seconds later, he realizes that they aren't there. And so, he is left to wonder as he walks home, if he really is going crazy as people say.
Read, review, follow, favorite; do whatever you would like, but all are encouraged.
Have a nice day!
