Into the Distance

She stares off into the distance,
Wondering,
Will she ever see him again?
Will he find a way to come back for her?
Everyday is like this.
It will never change.
She hates Fate for making them separate.
Why?!
Why is the world so cruel?!
Everyday is like this.
They watch her sit in the same chair on the porch.
They know she waits for him.
Everyday is like this.
For one year...
Two years...
She was right.
If you get too attached, sorrow will follow you.
Three years...
Then one day,
The sorrow is gone.
Because there he is, smiling at her.
He found a way.
He's taking her home with him.
Now,
She stares off into the distance,
Thinking,
What will happen today?
Will they survive again?
Or will Fate take these two lovers together?
Either way.
As long as they're together,
Nothing else matters.
