Something Different
When he first saw her, she looked like Suki and her warriors.
The next time, she blended in with her circus family.
The last time, she was apart of a perfect set of identical sisters.
But this time…something was different. He couldn't pinpoint it – and even if he did, he probably wouldn't find the words to describe it.
Maybe it was the way her bangs flew from her face as the air swooshed passed her. Or the way she smiled and laughed at the tickling sensation of moving against the wind. Maybe it was the way she held on so tightly to his torso every time they faced a sudden drop.
It was all of that… and then some.
As they began to descend towards the temple, Teo noticed the smile upon his companion's face. It was small, but genuine and… free. That's when it hit him. She wasn't surrounded by others that overshadowed or smothered her. She was with him and only him. No rules, requirements or standards. She was herself and she was free.
As they landed, Ty Lee turned to Teo and threw her arms around him. Taking a few moments to realize what was happening, he returned the hug.
Holding him close, she whispered in his ear "Thank you for bringing me here."
Teo shook his head in disagreement. "Thank you for coming."
AN: I was aiming for 150 words but it ended up being 227. Oh well, there's always the next chapter. :D
