Hellfire Squadron, rollcall!"
"Hellrazer reporting..."
"Hellmaker reporting..."
"Hellbringer reporting..."
"Armageddon reporting..."
"Apocalypse reporting..."
"Leviathan reporting..."
"Rapture reporting..."
"R-Okay guys we get the idea, we've got a job to do, what are we up against?"
"Numerous hostiles Captain! Blue Five Squadron has already lost at least six fighters, we're looking at a wolfpack M'am."
"Fuck...Hellrazer, what kind of resistance are we going up against?"
"I'm counting three Artillery emplacements, Anti-Air if I had to guess."
"For Kiff's sake they aren't making it easy for us, can we expect any help in bringing those offline?"
"Fraid not Captain, the Tenth Armor is caught up in some heavy fighting along the southwest ridge, they're dug in pretty deep, don't think we can expect any backup."
"Alright...Assume attack positions, get ready to engage."
"Let's give'em hell."
The iconic screech of TIE Fighters howled throughout the night sky, several TIE fighters soared above the rebel entrenchment, strafing with their cannons as they passed over, nearby, a small building set up as some sort of command post was hit with some of the heaviest firepower the Squadron had to bear.
Which showed it's face in the form of a TIE bomber, which was just as merciless in it's bombardment as it's fighter counterparts, if not more so, screams could be heard and the wooded area around the tench was set alight, it'd almost be beautiful if not for those running around trying to put out the fire.
Anti-Air guns sang their song of clanks and powerful booms, but every shot missed, it seems they had a hard time hitting the TIEs.
Though that wasn't all too helpful, as soon enough a final wave came in, screaming over the trench, a set of TIE Interceptors sailed above the rebel emplacements, and soon enough the rebel positions were met with a barrage of small, but numerous missiles launched from the usually air to air fighters,
disorganized from the attack, the rebel fighters had no time to recover, and soon enough, when the bombers came for another pass, they were as good as finished.
In just under five minutes, the formerly well defended rebel trench was left a smoldering series of craters, and a forest fire illuminated the night, surely started from the fighting.
"Good work lads, lets get back to base."
"Good shooting captain."
"You too Hellrazer. Rapture, Armageddon, Apocalypse, how'd you handle the dogfight?"
"What do you think captain?"
"Answer the question dammit."
"Fine, short answer? We kicked ass. Long answer? We kicked lots of asses."
"Always modest aren't you Rapture?"
"Haha, fuck you too Breaker."
"Gentlemen, you can fuck each other once we get back to base."
"Oh boy, did Maker just crack a joke?"
"You're lucky I don't crack you numbskull."
"Mooooom, Armageddon is being mean again."
"Please don't call me that Rapture..."
Needless to say, the banter continued long after they left the burning ruins.
