I should be doing NaNoWriMo but here we are.
Corrin blinked a few times, just taking in the moment. Here he was, with his girlfriend leaning on him as they watched another horror movie. The lights were dull in the apartment, partly to save money on electricity bills and partly because it fit the horror movie mood. Corrin was running his fingers through Azura's hair gently as she watched the final scenes of the movie, lightly snacking on strawberries dipped in chocolate.
It was just... perfect. The mood, the feeling within his chest. Corrin opened his mouth, already speaking before he could stop himself.
"Marry me."
Corrin blinked. Did he really say that? The credits began to roll, the room darkening with the black screen. A heartbeat passed. Then another.
Corrin began to sweat.
What if she wasn't prepared for this? Hell, he wasn't prepared to say that! There was no way in hell they were getting married! Even if she said yes, they were still halfway through college, barely scraping by! There was no time or money for a wedding! Gods Corrin felt stupid.
He quickly gathered his thoughts, ready to start apologizing before he totally ruin everyth-
"...Okay."
Corrin's breath stopped. "Okay?"
Azura leaned back, craning her neck to look at Corrin. "I'll marry you." A blush dusted her cheeks as she refused to make eye contact.
Corrin laughed and wrapped his hands around her stomach. "Haha!" He laughed and squeezed her tight. "I love you!"
"And I you."
Corrin looked back on those moments often, recalling just how spontaneous and perfect it was. There was no grand show, no spectators, no over-the-top performances.
It was just the two of them, in love.
And it was perfect.
