If I Had Wings
"If I had wings, I'd fly there right now," she said quietly. How true that was. How could this happen? Her partner, her dear friend was gone. But her sense of duty was pulling her farther and farther away from the one person she wanted to see more than anything. She was almost tempted to turn back, but she knew that he would have wanted her to finish her job. She knew then that she would never forget him, the clumsy fool. No, she would never forget him. She silently said her goodbye to him as a single tear graced down her face.
