20 Years
by Strange Music

It was a clear bright summer night
That he had passed away
He never saw the sun outside
that shined, the following day
He never saw the smile his child
wore, as he left to play
He never saw the tears his wife
cried, as she went to pray.

The years had passed
the seasons too
The wars had come and gone
Much friends had died,
and some had left
But he was never all alone.

So short, so fast
The time had had fallen
So quick, so brief
The minuets passed
and all to soon he heard the calling
That told him, that it couldn't last

He didn't die in fight or war
as he had thought he will
He died, the hour of the wolf
Quit, peaceful, still

It was a clear bright summer night
That he had passed away
He passed - a smile upon his lips
With nothing left to say.

The End
