Here and Now
Sitting by the river where they had first met, he wondered how things had turned out like this. Everything was so tranquil. It felt strange to not be fighting, to not be in the midst of a war. It felt strange – but in a good way.
He didn't care for the thought that any day now an uprising could occur. It didn't matter to him that the peace he worked so hard for was only temporary. Or that all it would take to destroy the future that he had dreamed of is a few sly remarks from his ever so interfering, stubborn younger brother.
No, Hashirama Senju didn't care to think about any of these things, for his love, his best friend in the whole world was fast asleep in his lap – smiling softly. Hashirama smiled to himself as he skipped a pebble across the river. This wouldn't last for ever, but for now it was enough.
