I do a Pokemon Appeal
Summary: A Decidueye and a Zoroark have a go at a contest appeal.
I leaned against a wall as I listened to the crowd applaud the previous contestant. As she passed when it settled, I gave her a nod which she politely returned before I straightened as I heard "And now ladies and gentlemen, we have a first timer, so give a nice round of applause for Matthew and his Decidueye and Zoroark!"
As the applause came again, if slightly more 'polite' in tone than excited, I took a deep breath and said "Here we go." I walked out onto the stage and gave a quick bow before I pulled a wide spreading, non-irritating smokeball from my belt and threw it to the ground, using the five seconds of coverage to send both of my mon out. When it faded away, Decidueye was on the floor, a pile of arrows already stacked in a position that immediately brought to mind a house of cards with just the top part missing. Zoroark was beside me, the two of us 'talking'.
Set up done, Decidueye began putting the last two arrows onto 'his' creation only for the setting of them to knock the whole thing over causing him to keen in distress earning our attention. Zoroark frowned at Decidueye's distress and walked over, turning into a red and black version of the large owl's green and black. Tapping Decidueye's shoulder, he formed an arrow and showed it to the 'natural' owl before he flicked it much like one would do on a water bottle challenge causing the arrow to land on the ground point down. Decidueye showed obvious confusion until Zoroark flicked another arrow and it landed on the first one's end. Zoroark gestured and Decidueye's eyes lit up in understanding and he copied the action.
What followed until the two and half minute mark of the appeal was the two owls using their arrows to make more and more impressive stacked creations, first starting with single stacks, then doing geometric shapes. Finally, at the preset time, Decidueye apparently decided to go bold or go home as he created a whole swarm of arrows and used them all at once, the arrows spinning up high towards the ceiling before they all came down and landed forming a rather impressive if basic form of a 'standard' castle to much applause.
Zoroark let out an impressed whistle but apparently it was not a good idea to blow wind at Decidueye's construct since it immediately fell down in a clatter of wood knocking together. The crowd grew immediately silent as they watched Decidueye's eyes begin to twitch before five seconds later, he let out a rather vicious cry and spun towards Zoroark and leapt at him. The next instant, a full on cartoon fight smoke cloud sprung up, complete with random objects and shapes being thrown out on top of the occasionally visible limb. I sighed and shook my head as it traveled all over the stage before going for the exit. Once there, Decidueye and Zoroark stepped out of the cloud that was STILL going and gave a quick bow to the now once more laughing crowd before they turned and dove back into the cloud to apparently continue their fight as it moved off the stage.
As soon as they left, ALL of the arrows disappeared showing that they had all been Zoroark's handy work and the announcer called out "And that was an excellent display from Decidueye and Zoroark, how about another round of applause folks!" The crowd eagerly did so and I gave one last bow before I too exited the stage. Grinning at my two mon who were waiting for me, I said "I think that went rather well."

Author's Notes: This idea has been stuck in my head for THREE DAYS. Maybe now it'll stop bothering me. Honestly, I think Define 'Harm' just opened the flood gates for One Shots. Oh, also for Decidueye's snapping moment, think Scrat from Ice Age when he wound up defrosting from a block of ice on a tropical island and JUST as he was able to get the acorn a wave took it away.
