It's been two years. Two years since I became a Dauntless member. And now, after hours of preparing, physically and mentally, I am ready to train initiates. I walk with Tobias, yes he is my boyfriend, to the rooftop where the initiates will jump. "So today's the day Four." I say to him. A sparkle of happiness enters his eyes, and I know it will be a while until I will see it again, since he has to be Four not Tobias with the initiates.
"Yes it is Six. I hope this group is better than two years ago. Geez things were like we were in hell with that group." he responds playfully.
"Yes I'm sure no one good came from that group." I giggle and abruptly stop when he sets his lips against mine. I immediately melt into the kiss until we hear voice. "Get a room!" I groan inwardly. Max. Of course he would say that.
"Ready to jump?"
"You know it."
"One…"
"Two, times two is Four…"
"Who's with the love of his life…"
"Six!" At the word Six, we jump down, like two flying stones. For a few seconds we are flying, but it ends all too soon when we hit the net. I am flooded with memories: me landing here in my Abnegation uniform, me laying eyes on Tobias for the first time, and lastly me holding his hand as he pulled me off the net. That one is the one that happens again. Then a playful glint enters his eyes. "Name?" he asks. I catch on and put a look on my face of deep thought and hesitation. "Choose wisely. You only get to choose once." (AN I don't know if those were his exact words, but you get it). "Tris!" we finally say together. I'm about to speak when I hear the blow of the train horn. I feel giddy with excitement but one look from Four shows me I have to be tough too. I quickly put a stone face on, and he nods, an approval. This time I will be in Lauren's place. I'm a little disappointed that I won't be making the announcement, but the job is perfect for Four. I hear Max's speech, and I tune it out. Then I see it: an airborne body covered in gray clothing. I inwardly smile because it means another Abnegation member felt the same way as me. I wonder if she's divergent. When she lands on the net, I can tell she seems uncomfortable. I grab her hand and pull her off. Of course she says thank you, and I respond with, "Name?" I ask with a dangerous tone to my voice. "I- umm it's- umm- I-I'm Heather." she finally finishes. "Make the announcement Four." "First jumper Heather!" We decided to come up with a new saying for when an initiate drops. So we all say, "Welcome to hell, welcome to Dauntless."
Thanks for reading the first chapter. Please leave thoughts and reviews on this story. Also my other story is on HIATUS. Sorry but I've lost inspiration for that one. But I'm here with a new one so please show some support.
