Chapter 1 Mission

She walked into the large room. There in center of the room, stood the three vampires that called for her. As she walked toward them, they did not turn. One of the many reasons that she was the favorite among the Volturi. Finally, she stopped right behind them and cleared her throat. The black haired vampire turned and stared with his milky eyes into her burgundy eyes.

"Ah at last, we're so glad you could join us Sarah." said Aro.

Aro was one of her favorite among the Volturi. Ever since he had came to her when she was first turned, and explained the rules of the vampires. He saved her life and for that she was forever grateful to him.

"When my masters call, I obey." she said with slight head nod

"Oh, none of that Sarah, you know you are more than just a regular vampire. I..." turning with a hand gesture towards Caius and Marcus. "We, hold you highly among us, if not as powerful as we are ourselves.

Sarah knew they would never say it directly, but she knew that they were afraid she would one day leave the Volturi. They keep her close but pleased, and give her complete freedom to ensure that she would never leave them. She has a special ability that they wish to never lose.

"Now, now Aro, we a very important matter to discuss." said the white haired vampire, Caius turning to acknowledge her presence.

"Yes Caius, back to business. Now, Sarah we have a mission that we would like you to go on. If you don't mind of course." Aro said as Marcus placed a folder into her hands. "We have someone we would like you to check up on, and then report back to us."

"Of course, it would be an honor to go." she said as she took the folder. "I will back soon and I will not disappoint you."

"Excellent! Have a safe trip and by the way, try not to be seen. It just might make your job a little bit harder." said Aro as she turned to leave the room started to fill up with vampires.

She walked into the golden hallway as a group humans where hurdled into the room of vampires. They had no idea what waited for them ahead as the beautiful Heidi led the way. At the end of the group stood Felix, he stopped as soon as he saw Sarah.

"Are you not staying for the feast?" He asked as he eyed the woman in front of him.

"I have a more important matter to attend to, but I'm sure you'll feed enough for the both of us" she replied

"Damn..., so you're the one they're sending. I thought they would."

"You bet. I am the best aren't I?"

"That I must agree with, but do you not want to take someone with you? I mean...to watch your back?" a faint smile broke as he quickly tried to hide it

"You know I like to work alone, Felix, in every way."

"Well, it doesn't hurt to ask, does it?"

"No, it doesn't, but if you don't hurry," pointing to the room as a scream broke the silence. "All the good ones will be gone."

"The good one's are already gone." he said as an emotion surfaced that was unfamiliar to her.

"Well, I must be going or I'll never leave." as she walked towards the elevator. The human receptionist, Gianna called to Sarah, "It's a beautiful sunny day outside."

"Great" she said as she entered the elevator. As she reached the top floor, she stepped out and walked to the entrance of the sunny square.

"Just the way I like it." she said putting her sunglasses over her now green eyes as she stepped into square smiling.
