Summary: Two years after the Great War between Naturals and Coordinators another war has started once again between the two.
This is a poem written by Athrun to Cagalli just before he leaves earth with the Archangel to space.

Cagalli was sitting in her office when she suddenly heard a knock at the door "Come in"
"Lady Cagalli, there's a letter here addressed to you and I thought you might like to read it," said the maid as she walked to Cagalli's desk
"Thank you, Grace" Cagalli opened the letter and began to read.
To Cagalli Yula Attha:
And with me goes a single thought
A sad refrain, which I cannot explain
An image of perfection
I've reached my gold now I must share
Desire for life with you the one whom I care
I'm dreaming of those days
When I could find a thousand ways
To say what I feel
I tell you it's real forever more.
Well fortune play part here
It brought us to one place
Then it left with out a trace
And in the scheme of things
With some time, I know we can succeed.
And when the days, turn into night
We've always got tomorrow
In our sight.
Cagalli, I love you. I promise one day when everything is over with I'll return to you.
Hopefully, if you still care for me the same way I care for you when I return we can
still be together. But tell then please stay safe my love, Good-Bye.
Cagalli looked up from the letter and looked out the window behind her as a tear fell from her eye
"Are you alright my lady ?" asked the maid once she noticed Cagalli's tears. Cagalli looked back at the maid while wiping away her tears and smiled.
"Yes, I'm alright" she looked out the window again "It's just this letter mean's a lot to me"
"Why is that my lady ?"
"This letter is from someone very special to me, but right now because of the war we can't be together" Cagalli could feel the tears burning in her eyes again as she looked down at the letter. "This letter also gives me hope that one day maybe when things have settled down we can finally be togther but tell thenI can only wait"
The maid walked over to Cagalli to comfort her as she cried. But these tears weren't tears of saddness or despair they were tears of hope, joy and most of all love!
