Narrator's POV

He shook of his waking dreams to the sound of his alarm clock. It was time to face another day of aching loneliness, without the friend of his heart, Saphira. "How long has it been?" he asked the empty house. 'Far too long' he thought. Eragon got up to face his first day at Forks High School.

Eragon's POV

I walked back out into the rain. I liked the rain, it was soothing. I started for my first period English class, but when I walked in I found that the people inside where starting to smell like food. 'I need to hunt soon' I thought. When I took of my raincoat and revealed my face, I heard several of the girls in the class gasp and felt their intense stares. "That is what I would like to know." said Edward. "That looked like a damned dragon," he said, "and it sounded like it knew you." "I don't know how it would so there is nothing I can do about the vision because I do not know what will bring me face to face with the great scaly beast." I said. "Really?" Edward said "That is strange, are you getting anything else?" "Only that we have a new student starting today, whose name is Aaron Shadow, and I don't see how they can be related, do you?" "No," Edward said, mystified, "I do not." "Lets just get to school," I said wearily "my vision will happen, or it won't and fretting about it will not help anything." I headed for the door, gaining back my usual cheerfulness as I went. I had a really good feeling about our new student. 'He spells his name funny' I thought 'almost like it isn't even his real name. Aaron…'
