Questioning

Grinning I sneaked another look at his face, I could tell he couldn't stand not knowing.
'Tell me!' he pleaded, the wind blowing his ebony hair into his eyes, obscuring their green warmth from view. Laughing, I reached up to brush his hair away, but he caught my hand mid air and kissed it. I tried to tug it free, but he only grinned against my freckled palm and pulled me towards him, so my body was flush with his, my scarlet hair washing the out of place perfume of summer flowers over both of us. Even through the sharp winter air and the layers of clothes we were both bundled up in, I could still feel the heat of his body against mine, and the contrast made a shiver go down my spine and goose bumps rise on my arms. Suddenly his lips seemed very close, and as I breathed in his scent he pulled me even closer. Within a moment our arms were wrapped around each other and the only thing stopping me from giving in and kissing him there and then was my pride.

He watched me with smiling eyes as I resisted him with difficulty, and with perfect timing, just as I'd pulled myself together, he whispered in my ear, his soft breath caressing my neck as he spoke.

'What was your dream about?'

He didn't have to ask again, my kiss was all the answer he needed.

'You'
